Thanks fellas! That "quote" was an example I made up, and goes to show you that information posted is not necessarily accurate or otherwise, as it seems.
-
I think that should be sufficient, however the more defined your source reference is (if you have it) would be for better for others who might want to research further, (if they choose to).
-
No, you are not off base. Your suggestion, among others, was part of the reasoning behind this decision. Thanks! People need to remember that posts made here are the opinion of the poster, and while they may appear to be authoritative and accurate, they are (excuse the caps) "AS IS" AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. Hopefully this will stimulate readers to do more research, and will improve the overall value of the information obtained from the discussions here.

Yes. If, for example, you want to make a statement: "OSHA says you have to wear SCBA" then you would have to cite OSHA - CFR 1910.146 Respiratory Protection as the source for your information Easy.

If you PM me with the individual(s) who is(are) deficient with the required profile information, I will be happy to look into it.

This is a very sad, unfortunate case, and for all intents and purposes, this kid has ruined his life. There really is no way to defend against this type of impulse control disorder, and I seriously doubt even, whether any routine psychological screening would have picked up on this, prior to his having been accepted into his department.

This Discussion split from another topic started: here That's the second time I've ever seen a Bangor ladder used. 4th and 6th picture First time was in "Ladder Company Ops school" way back in '74, with Ernie Fischer at Armonk FD. Ever been on a "Church Raise"? We had to climb up 40 or 50 feet, (felt like a hundred) cross over, and come down the other side, in order to pass the class.

Google AND EMTBravo, work together... I found this old thread, which has the answers! http://www.emtbravo.net/lofiversion/index.php?t8489.html Currently there are no snorkels in service in Westchester under the "Snorkel" badge.

My apologies to R1 SmokeEater, (this is an unintentional hijack) MV Snorkel 1? I thought Bedford Hills had the first Snorkel in the county, back in the seventies?

We want to keep this forum fun... interesting. There is nothing wrong with YouTube videos, but simply posting a link with ONLY a Subject line without any description and/or your opinion in the body of your post *could* be subject to a lock (at best)or a post "poof". p*** links are not allowed (Really. We mean it!) Let's keep the utterly graphic to a minimum. Reposting..... Hey ...sometimes it happens... take a deep breath ... It's not the end of the world ... move along. I personally do not mind the occasional re-posts...I do, however, mind the constant flaming when a user posts one. Flames WILL be extinguished! If you have checked and still feel you have a link that has been posted over and over in this forum: Instant Message Me with: 1) The url 2) A description of the site (please keep it brief) 3) Two examples of posts with the same link in the last 30 days. (Urls of the post only please) Thanks to everyone who contributes! Keep 'Em Coming!

Good going, Guys! And thanks for all the help!

Thanks, guys! I'm Glad to be able to help with the site. It really is a great place, and we're growing fast, too!

I understand what you mean. If that's the case a brief description of the content is all I'm looking for. I don't intend to go around deleting everything without comments. (Edited"will" to *could*)

Security contingencies for "High-Profile" events and people, always involve the local jurisdiction having authority. There is a whole lot more going on than just escorting them from point A to point B. It is extremely tragic for us all when there is an accident and we lose someone who is only "doing their job" We may or may not like politicians or politics, but the fact of the matter is that they are here and are never going to go away. My sincerest condolences to the family and colleagues of Senior Corporal Victor Lozada Tirado.

It looks like we have TWO "volunteers" !

Woah! It looks like a can of gasoline that they use for setting back-fires leaked and caught fire!

I.A. is an excellent resource, for breaking news, even if it's outside our region. I'll add my HUZZAH ! Thanks, Truck4! for that, and more!

I'm trying to confirm the correct parameters on the Westchester trunked system south-zone. In particular, I need the Base configuration-2 frequency and offsetCH settings values, since there are different settings floating around, from different places. I've seen: 475.750 MHz, Step = 12.5 kHz, Channel = 500 476.075 MHz, Step = 12.5 kHz, Channel = 526 (RR) and then CH of 520 or even 570, depending on where you looked. Does anyone have the actual frequency and offsetCH numbers needed for this zone, that works? Thanks! Jack

According to the NSE (National Society for Epilepsy) any lights that have between five and thirty flashes per second CAN trigger seizures in individuals who have photosensitive epilepsy. Photosensitivity is more common in children, but adults can be affected!

Thanks for posting the update... there was a lengthy discussion here when the news of the charges were first filed against the inspectors. It's a sad outcome for the parties involved, but the original charges have been substantiated.
