There was an error with the reply permissions involved for that particular forum, Seth fixed that problem, but pre-existing posts there still might still be affected.

Thank you, Ō sensai .

I saw this rainbow last night it was very cool!. With most double rainbows, the second (outer one) the colors are reversed due to a second reflection of the light occurring, and have a dark band (Alexander's band) between them.

This is a shame....I'd really like to know what's going on in the Vern.... Why can't the 3rd largest city in the county, (8th largest statewide) get it right? Who is the Commissioner? and what fire-department credentials does the Deputy Commissioner bring to the table?

Stories like these always stir up negative publicity for the involved department, but everyone must keep in mind, there is absolutely NO WAY anyone can screen prospective (and existing) members for this type of behavior. No Way.

My sincerest condolences go out to the friends and families who are suffering from this tragic loss.

This is a legitimate question..... STAT short for stabilization, treatment and transport, Flight ...any severe injury or illness, including heart attack and stroke, penetrating wounds, multiple fractures, head injury, blunt trauma, limb detachment, falls, near drownings, burns and smoke inhalation, qualifies. In addition to medivac helicopters, STAT flight provides ground mobile intensive care ambulances.

Counter-charges made to confuse the real charges.... That father should have paid better attention to what was going on in his own house,... he didn't know Pot plants were growing practically right under his nose ? " Those are PALM, trees, Dad..." And what about the illegal silencer equipped unlicensed gun?

My guess is he is the vehicle owner, and either he was trying to perform an initial tactical cabin ventilation operation, or, he just hurled his last bottle of Miller Genuine Draft at the car, in disgust...

FYI The 2008 Atlantic hurricane season officially starts June 1 and lasts until November 30. To help raise awareness of hurricane dangers and the need for storm preparation, the National Hurricane Center has designated May 25 to 31 as Hurricane Preparedness Week. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/HAW2/english/intro.shtml On May 22, 2008, NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center announced that projected climate conditions point to a near normal or above normal hurricane season in the Atlantic Basin this year. For 2008, the outlook indicates a 60 to 70 percent chance of 12 to 16 named storms, including 6 to 9 hurricanes and 2 to 5 major hurricanes. The outlook is a general guide to the overall seasonal hurricane activity,” retired Navy Vice Adm. Conrad C. Lautenbacher, Ph.D., undersecretary of commerce for oceans and atmosphere and NOAA administrator said. “It does not predict whether, where or when any of these storms may hit land. That is the job of the National Hurricane Center after a storm forms.” When it comes to hurricanes and other severe storms, the motto to remember is "Be Prepared." http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/HAW2/english/disas...revention.shtml http://www.nws.noaa.gov/

Since we drifted slightly off topic, If there's a call on Sheldrake Lake (in the water) , who gets that? NewRochelle, Town of Mamaroneck, or Village of Larchmont?

Local jurisdiction cannot supersede State DMV Laws, I seriously doubt he has authorization for possession or use of any "warning lights" county vehicle or otherwise. Re-read the article... the bit about people getting pulled over was by another "local official" 11 years ago... he should have been locked up!

Suicide-by-Cop....? I feel very bad for the Trooper...for having to go through this traumatic episode... nothing can prepare you for this...

This guy is a typical egomaniac. He exhibits several warning signs, in this article here alone. They think the world revolves around themselves.... he admits it's probably improper but then goes on and justifies the lights and his own self-importance, as a some sort of "religious leader". I could go on, but then I'd be preaching to the choir....

The number of boat trips the "average Joe" is going to take will most definitely be limited by fuel costs. For example, my Brother-in-law mentioned over the weekend about a buddy of his recently took his boat for a ride, 1-1/2 hours up river and back on the Hudson, and it cost over $700.00 in diesel to fill it up!!! $233.00 an hour, in fuel!!!

In the first picture, the smoke looks almost like it's in 3-D!!! Well over a million dollars in damages, in minutes!

Beginning May 19th, and continuing for two weeks through June 1st, law enforcement agencies across the nation will have stepped up enforcement of seat belt use. Don't be caught dead sitting on your seatbelt.
-
Just a reminder for everyone, BUCKLE UP...Ticket or not, Seat Belts Save Lives! For where this program is being followed and seatbelt laws ARE being enforced, you can get stopped and get a ticket...

Hi, Sorry, I was working on resizing your pictures earlier today, (they blew out the page margins due to the resolution) and for some reason when I edited the post that one shot would not upload. I'm working on a solution, as we speak.... I still have that "missing" picture file. Please bear with me...

.....You'll notice that she didn't care if he was dirty, she didn't care if he smelled like burnt wood, she only knew this man saved her life and she thanked him from her heart the best way she could.... The Kiss

See the links Steve posted above. Uniden and Rat shak each have several scanners capable of trunked and conventional reception. You generally have to set up separate channel banks for the trunked frequencies, but both types can be programmed in. The the local frequencies are posted at the top of the Communications forum, and they are available on the Radio Reference dot com Database, in the link Steve posted. Here's more: http://www.emtbravo.net/index.php?showtopic=22982
