  1. That assumption is correct. Let us not cloud the issue with any facts.
  2. A flash in the pan. The good news is we will not likely ever see her again. She has effectively put an end to the possibility of any future invitations for public engagements.
  3. Here's a link to the article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080630/ap_on_...ht_millionaires The oil companies own the drilling and refining equipment, they pay the land owners a nice royalty on the oil they pump out.
  4. Happy Fourth Everyone!!!
  5. I'm in at work right now, They "stopped the Clock" and are still talking... News flash ..... A tentative contract agreement was reached @ 0500 this AM membership will be given the package shortly, to either ratify or reject....
  6. What is the advantage of having two suction connections into the water source? I would think the pump would be able to achieve it's total rated capacity through one large-diameter hard suction.
  7. Here's a listing of local fireworks: http://www.lohud.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article...EWS01/806290344
  8. I have two new trunking scanners, a Uniden BCD996T used as a base unit, connected to a roof mounted Radio Shack Discone Antenna, and a portable Uniden BC246T with a Diamond RH77CA antenna. Both are Butel ARC software programmed- I can't imagine trying to set these up manually!!! (I'm told that it can be done!) Then I have two other older hand-helds, A Uniden BC120XLT, and a really, really old, Realistic Pro31.
  9. The labor contract expired at 11:59 PM (06/28) and talks continued past the midnight deadline. Apparently Governor Patterson intervened and parties have agreed there will be a 72 hour "cooling-off" period, where contract negotiations will continue. This means "normal" operations 'till Tuesday night.
  10. For a bit of trivia: Bristol, Rhode Island, sponsors the oldest, continuously running 4th of July parade in the United States. Their first celebration was established in 1785, and this year's will be their 223rd consecutive event!!!
  11. Let's ALL hope there is NO strike. The last one was a fiasco, the union came back after being out 9 weeks, for practically the same package they rejected! Wires down call? ...you can assume that you will sit on them a while, especially if it's a widespread storm with a lot of damage....
  12. Ya think the County Health Department might be interested in testing a sample of droppings for the presence of Hantavirus?
  13. here's a nice little cake for Ya!
  14. Yes, that may be correct, however, even though the current contract expires at the end of 2009, formal NEGOTIATIONS for a NEW contract will commence in five months. It is common practice to raise sensitive issues well in advance of official negotiations.
  15. Does anyone remember what happened with the first OFD marine-unit delivery?
  16. Access is free for Cablevision subscribers, but if a non-subscriber were so inclined, they would have to pay $4.95 a month ($48.00 Yr) subscription to access their "content" without an account.
  17. The biggest peeve I have with them is when they broadcast a story, then they tell viewers if you have any information, go to their website to get the phone number to contact the local authorities"!!!! Gimme a Break!!! Just give out the number to call!!! I don't get it....look at it like this: some poor slob that can't afford a computer and might have information, he can't call, because they didn't give the number.....make sense???
  18. What a moron. This kid's act was immature and the whole episode an embarrasment to the school and community. A woman who answered the door at his home defended his action? ... "Blame the School"... ...another idiot. Now We know where he gets it from...nice work, Mr + Mrs Turano. You should be proud of your son. David, You are nothing but a spoiled, selfish loser. Nice going, Not only have you disgraced yourself, but you have disgraced your parents good name. Shame on you. You need a good swift kick in the behind. Edit: never mind... too late for some overdue corporal punishment, ehhh? Topic moved to appropriate discussion forum.
  19. My deepest condolences to the family. May you find the strength to get through the pain and sorrow of your loss of this child.
  20. If you'll notice, there is a brand new addition to the Board STATISTICS section! There is now a user legend to identify the group the colors represent with a link to the associated Member List. Thanks Seth!
