  1. Just a few I took
  2. It depends on what your risk assesement came up with. If you have more than 3 stories no.
  3. Thats why we had to go with the system we went with, because of mutual aid
  4. Risk assessement and SOG is done, now I'm waiting for my systems to get here. We went with the RIT class 2 harness and the PRESS system. 25 to be issued to the members and 3 baiout bags for training. When they get here 8 FF's will be trained as instructors. Our new firehouse which is almost done has a bailout window incorporated into it alog with a "confined space" hole.
  5. And if not they can be wrapped in RED wrapping paper
  6. What is the strangest dispatch you remember. The reason I ask is because yesterday Dutchess dispatched 2 really strange ones within minutes of each other. 1st call was for 3 subjects injured in a shopping cart incident at Sam's Club. 2nd call was for a Lawn Tractor roll over. More understandable than the first call but was there a full moon yesterday Is it me or are these just really nuts
  7. 48" Scag walk behind
  8. The 3's were junk out of the box. If I could get all 2's thats what I would have. They were the best and the one's still around are still better than anything else made
  9. When we got ours apx 6 years ago or more it cost about 500.00 for everything. I could only guess it's more now.
  10. I think the reason why bunker gear is the norm is because responding to any alarm on the rigs you must be in full PPE. When you do get to the brush fire most of the time it's hot and humid so the FF's do shed some clothes, other wise like someone else said we would be droping like flies. I dont think we should ignore and stanards when it comes to PPE but lets look at the stanard. We do have the type of brush fires around here like they do out west where the stanard was probley created for. I've never seen in over 20 years of fighting brush fires someone get burned or hurt because they did'nt follow the "Stanard". For many reason's above and beyond just structural firefighting. Auto accidents, keeping warm in the winter while standing out there directing traffic and so on and on
  11. At that point it was in the clean up stages. Our policy is either bunkers and a helmet or out wildland firefighting gear. Those who question wearing bunker gear at brush fire have obviously never fought a brush fire in 90 degree weather
  12. Most of our girls have pink tips ( Pink Ducktape )
  13. It was about 11am and it envolved a Harley just on the other side of the Breakneck tunnel. It didnt look like a hard fall, the bike still looked like it was still in good shape.

  21. NKFD was there with their tanker. At the time Glenham didn't have a tanker and I'm not sure how many Hughsonville had. Garrison and ours were there and we just called for tankers from Dutchess and that's what they sent. This fire was 10/02/1993 on my birthday so I remember it well (maybe because the ceiling came down on me). I may be wrong on this so guys from Rombout correct me but I think this was the first fire their ladder truck saw.
