Does anyone know what is going on in the City Of Beacon at this time? I heard Fishkill, Wappingers, NYSP, DCSO, and City Of Beacon Police all in route with a possible P.O. injured?

Does anyone know what happened this morning at the intersection of Hooker Ave. and Grand Ave. I was stuck in traffic there and could not really tell what was going on. I saw Eng. 2 and 3 and Ladder 2 all parked in front of the travel agent there.

I think that by saying the vets have all to offer and the youth have nothing is alittle ridiculos. At least that is what I took out of the post. In my opinion the vets have great knowledge and I have great respect for the old timers. But I also think the youth can bring new life and new ways things should be done in all fields of life. We should sometimes give the kids a chance in all we do. Just cause something has been done for 20 years one way doesnt mean that a change is always a bad thing. Sometimes we need to change and move on with new ideas to not only better ourselves but to also be more proficient at what we do. Just my opinion. All memebers can offer great things we just need to listen sometimes and look beyond the age of the people behind the posts. I bet if there was no age range next to the posts, some of the youngsters posts would have people thinking they came from a long time vet and some posts that did come from a long time vet we would think came from a youngster. Again this is just my opinion and by no means am I trying to start a fight with anyone. Just wanted to voice it.

The lightning bolt is the signal stalker stalker feature on that scanner. I have had the same one for 2 years and love it. That will only appear when the signal coming from the transmission or tone is extremely good.

I quit the day after this budget was announced. I have been good for 8 weeks and have 2 weeks left on the patch. Seems to work very good and I can breath so much better. I thought it was going to be the worst the I ever did, but I'll tell ya it has made me feel so much better, and I can sleep the whole night thru. Good Luck to all who are quiting!

So what you are saying is if for some reason your brother did do something like this, whether he was blood or not you would turn your back on him? I find that hard to believe. I am not defending what this kid did by any means, all I am saying is that this kids life is changed forever and hopefully he can rehabilitate hiimself and have a good life. And that I just hoped people would not just kick this kid to the curb and say he is now a lost cause. And though some of you I am sure think I am an idiot, my opinion is what it is and I believe that the Ansonia Fire Department will get through this and everyone in the longrun will get through this and go on to lead full filling lives.

That sucks! Not I only do I feel for the department, but I also feel for this kid. He obviously has some issues to deal with and hopefully he will never do this again. He will never be a firefighter and community representative again which is deserved. But I hope friends and family dont turn that back on this kid, he is only 18 and still has his whole life ahead of him. Hopefully he will get what justice he deserves, but hopefully he also can change his life when he is done serving his time and start fresh. I know I am going to get hammered for my comments here, but I am sorry that I believe everyne deserves a second chance. I am also glad to see that the department has this kids family in their prayers and that they did not just turn their back on him. After all this is a brother hood and if your brother did something like this, yes you would be angry and upset but you would still be there to help him. Sorry for my comments but it is onlymy opinion and can respect if any or all of you disagree.

Is anyone on this site going to be involved in this drill? I hear it is going to be huge. Should be interesting because they are doing this drill in one of the main trolling channels in this area for Striped Bass and there is a huge tournament this weekend. I hear they are going to have the Coast Guard there with the guys that jump from the Choppers into the water.

How come there is not more of a presence from Ulster County guys? There are some really well educated departments and well run districts up there. I think an incident alert section for Ulster should be added, there is always something interesting going on there. Not sure if it is possible to do at this time but I think it is definitely something to think about. I will also keep trying to pass the word along about the site and hope for the people I tell to tell others. Who knows I guess only time will tell if they decide to join up with a great site and share their knowlege.

Man, once again Westchester guys critisizing everyone else once again! Why doesnt everyone just wait and see how this plays out before we bash either side. Maybe both have valid points that need to be addressed so that this doesnt happen again. Lets just wait and see what happens and say good job to all involved in keeping this incident from spreading to homes or worse people getting injured!

This was a great stop by a Department who's abilities are very under rated around the county. I personally know the main operators of that truck and they are some of the best I have ever seen in what they do. If that was where the truck was placed then that was the best possible place that truck could have been put! Great Job Wappingers and the neighboring companies!

Just one thing. Check the price tag on one of the batteries when they go in a Hybrid. Cost will offset all money you save in fuel.

Can someone tell me what types of ilness's / Diseases can still be transmitted in wet or dried bodily fluids. For example: A suction Unit is used on a patient and it sucks blood or vomit into the actual motor of the unit. What risks are there for the person who would have to fix that motor be and would there be different if by the time the unit got to that person if the fluids were still in liquid form or dried. Just trying to figure out some proper precautions, shipping procedures, and risks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its about a year and half old. Its a Rosenbauer on a Spartan Gladiator Chassis. It's a real nice rig.

Strathmore II limo is great. Used them for my wedding and know many others who have used them in the past and nothing but good things to say about them. They are located in Wappingers. I dont know the number off hand but it is listed. They also have a sweet old school Roles Royce which I used for myself and my wife. Beautiful car!
