Well it is official now. Fire Apparatus Industry News: New York City DCAS has *finally* issued a "Notice of Award" for 20 rear mounts to FERRARA FIRE APPARATUS.

That is 306's 1986 engine not the the one that is 298 now. The one for this topic is a 1992 that went to 14 first then later to 306. So this pic is not the correct one. Sorry Chris

You have to pay to get your car inspected. I think it is a great idea for a FD to charge for this. I will help to off set cost of equipment and other cost that may not be funded from the city. Great Idea maybe other depts should follow. Just my 2 cents CP

Rescue 3 does not need the big truck anymore as you now have a Collapse rescue in every boro. For a long time they had the only unit in the city. just my 2 cents.

Weather Conditions: Clear Description Of Incident: Small twin engine plain coming into Teterboro crashed shourt of the airport by less then 100 yards. Two persons on board self extricated and sat curb side and awaited Emergency crews. Both victims are at St. Barnabas burn unit and are bort in critical condition. The Mack C that is tagged as the Foam unit 1 was Engine 6. Ladder 4 ALF was an 85 foot ladder. The van tagged as the rescue was the rescue for a time before they got the box van now used as the field unit.

I would like to know if any department have this service ready to be used and how do you get them to your members. In Bergen Co. NJ we have what is called the Phoenix Team this team can be called at any time and will respond to the department who calls. They also have the ability to have several teams deploy to different fire house at the same time.The team is made up of members of the service as well as members of the clergy. I do know that here in NJ they have a training class for persons who would like to help and join the team. This is a great resource that is out there for all services and should be used when needed. The days of sitting at the bar are over people need to talk about what has happen and what they feel. Share what is done in your department and how it works maybe this will help someone out. I remember when 10 burned up on the Sprain. I think it was 10 that got hit and flipped in Mt.Vernon with Sue driving also before it burned.

I think the I/C now knows what he is getting. If he asked for and Enginge and a Tower Ladder he gets and Engine 11 and Tower Ladder 24 clear as day. You start saying chief you have 22-3-4 and 22-1-1 what the hell is that lotto numbers. I still think it works the way it is maybe some people dont like it as they did not get the number that like oh well. If it is not broke dont try and fix it. My 1 cent
