Yes it will set off your pager via the repeater freq. as it is the same transmit tone. The only thing to worry about it is if Yorktown shut the repeater down and you do not know about it you will no signal. Hope this helps you. Chris

From a very reliable source states it appears American LaFrance has won the bid to supply the Newark with three engines and two trucks that were put out for bid from the 2005 budget. Also rumored is that there is talk of tacking on three more engines, two more trucks, and a new rescue from the 2006 budget. From an E-mail

Just and FYI the city of Newark is also going to ALF rigs with the new order of I think 3 engine's and 1 ladder to start with and they may have an add on very soon. I will get more info and pass it on.

Here in N.J. (Bergen Co) My dept. we use the system of a M/A FAST on the W/F signal but alot of the time we use the 3rd engine till we het the M/A truck in. We also have all members trained so at any time we may dispatch an engine or the ladder as the 2nd or 3rd FAST unit. The first team in should have all the tools and equipment set up i/f/o the bldg if they go to work for fire duty they should leave the stuff and let the 2nd due fast use it and so on if they go to work. I also have heard some areas dispatch 2 fast team on the w/f signal may not be a bad thing. Just my 2 cents. Chris

Maybe the city should give the Aux PO's fire arms training and deadly force training before letting them go on patrol. The city has armed security guards all over the 5 boro's then you also have armed guard on the money trucks who have no traing. At the least let them have a gun while on patrol and take it from them when not on duty. I also feel this should be done for the DOT guy's who are on every other corner in the city train them as well. They all can make a difference. All of the mutts have guns without any training. Just my 2 cents. Chris Page

I know that Newark NJ also had 6 or 7 of them (Engines) and a few up in the New England area also. Yonkers was the only dept to have enclosed crew cabs on them. Only the referb eng had the open crew cab the ladder that was L-69 was enclosed as well and it was an 85' ladder from ALF. I know of one still in service in Orange Co NY in the Kirias Joel FD I think it came from Essex MA before it's second life in Orange Co. Hope his help's Chris

He was joking.....the RESCUE Co's dont get flats all of the tires are hooked up to the onboard air pump. So they never get flats. Chris
