all extrication equipment old plus some new things were placed on new E-170.. More equipment is on order and or pending final approval. the pierce x-170 now 171 retains all the mounting brackets so they can be moved in the event 170 goes out of service.. The Ward lafrance x171 is still at station 2.. it is out of service..

just a note there was a write up on E-170, the info on the old 170 pierce is wrong , it is a 2000 pierce dash 2000 gpm 500 gal tank... not a 1991 lance 1500gal per min.. old 170 is now 171 the 4 guys engine is now 170

Note these are separte incidents. new ro's fire got as stated by LTNRFD "Structure fire at New Rochelle High School. Departments into the city on mutual aid: Eastchester E-31 Larchmont TL-7 Greenvile E-151 & L-4 Scarsdale TL-29 White Plains E-71 & L-34 2nd Alarm call back of NRFD personnel and manned E-19, L-14, RES-4 and MSU-3. Plus guilds as available for the out of town " Pelham had major storm damage from trees down to wires down to flooded basements with up to 8 ft of water in them to smoke from the structure Etc. Hartsdale E-170, Fairview E-175, m/a at 1846hrs Also FDMV ladder 62 to pelham untill they had to return due to a possible structure fire. Later on as Greenville L-4 and White plains E-71 and Ladder 34 cleared NRFD they responded to calls in pelham as well.

E-170 went to the scene, later on in the fire car 2173 went to the scene with 2 volunteers as man power once call back members were staffing the spare engine..

No... the Pierce E-170 is still 170.. New 170 isnt in service but has been on a few calls in the course of road driving.

depends what type of gear you have... globe AAA in north white plains does it, they must be sent out could be 2 weeks could be a month it often varries.. morning pride, check your local dealer but i know Trilex in Passaic, NJ. they are fast, i had a coat with my name added and a few minor repairs and washing back in 2 days.

TL-15 was in quarters with E-170 when 170 cleared the brush fire.. And SFD E-54 till callback personnel arrived 5 minutes after being called and staffed 171 and E-54 was released. No volunteers showed up.. And volunteers don’t count as staffing they supplement the career force they are a bonus if we get any on the signal 9.. No offense intended.. 2 units are not available on the scene when they have lines stretched and hydrants hooked.. All 3 did not show up rite away.. You had 3 people injured in the road way and at least 1 house in danger with limited personnel showing up... Greenville was 1st they notified Hartsdale it was in Hartsdale (very close to the HFD-AFD line)... gpd responded as ems and with their tech rescue team. Ardsley as far as I am told only showed up with a chief no apparatus.. (That is as I am told if that’s not true some one feel free to pm me) i dont view a over turned garbage truck a top a hill threating rolling down that hill into atleast 1 or more structures with a load of fuel, and garbage and injured people your typical every day incident espically not in this area. Alot of speculation going on here with little facts... and alot of jumping around hartsdale had no long term mutual aid didn't strip any one of people or apparatus.. help was requested due to no available engine companies as soon as they were back in quarters m/a was released..

side note the truck was up righted by glens towing with 2 wreckers... not DPW as the Ia says..

Hartsdale sent E-169 and car 2172, E-170 was operating at a brush fire... FFD couldnt relocate a engine for what ever reason to hartsdale as HFD did call backs and fully staffed our spare engine... so scardsale relocated E-54 to hartsdale station 2 for a short while. so with HFD FFD and SFD un able to relocate to GFD next step on the run card is WPFD NRFD or EFD.... thus why so far away...

Fairview E-174 has it although its my understanding they often use only foam and water and dont turn on the air compresser... Hartsdale's new Engine will also have it

less fire flow maybe with regards to traditional knock down time and GPM how ever if it takes 2 min of flow with CAFS to knock down a fire the standard taught is to continue to flow the CAFS for an additional 2 minutes ( for example it takes 4 min to knock down u must continue to flow an additional 4 min for a total of 8... so maybe the total gpm is now alot closer to that of traditional water we can operate a line in a room and contents job and have it in a short flow time and then can mop up accordingly, there is no need to blanket or smother.... guess some one would have to get some flow meters out and count the total gpm of both methods...

eastchester hartsdale scarsdale and possible others were taking a hazmatt tech refresher about 3 blocks away at crossway fire house. all 3 responded today, EFD from what i understand took their Squad 5 Bus. and Car 2102 responded also last fri during this class it was HFD SFD WPFD and NRFD and scarsdale had a fire on winslow HFD E-169 responded as F.A.S.T. with SFD 2431, 33, E-55, 56 57 Tl-29 and SVAC

HFD E-170 stretched and operated that 2 1/2 and backed it up with a Stang gun fed by a 4 inch line while encountering water issue with the lack of flow of the hydrant.

paratech or Air shore I like either better then the rescue jacks or R 42 jacks. These seem only for vehicle and truck or to build a tripod, I didn’t like them personally the times I used them. I think it’s much better to learn 1 system and have attachments for multiple scenarios and thus have multiple uses rather then say R 42 for cars and carrying air shore or paratech for trench calls, if u carry 2 systems guys need to learn both why not simplify and have one that does all and thus saves space as well. I feel with all the attachments that paratech and air shore offer that you need to only learn one system and they can be used on cars, trucks, trenches, building collapse and even to build a tripod.

ok just wondering, current full staffing is 9 on the street per group thats 4 groups total 36 so your numbers were off alittle... granted a FF can be on vaction or so forth under the current system, the rest makes sense, thanks for clarifying

just wondering where you got these numbers? does that mean HFD needs 45 more guys to meet the 16 on the 1st alarm? or are u saying to staff our 2 engines and ladder we need 45 total?
