  5. i don't know about all of you, but i think us neighboring departments need to drill even more then we already do together. also i think we need to be wiser in our mutual aid calls. Why shouldn't we call our immediat neighbor and get the help to the scence faster. i think all these disputes and issues need to be thrown away. i know we in Hartsdale as reciently as thus past june when 300 South Central went up skiped over ardsley who was reayd in 1/4's with a full crew to call dobbs ferry, what the reason is i don't know mabe it was becuase Ardsley has skiped us as well in the past, not saying either is right, but i think all this needs to be put aside and us neighboring departments need to work together for the good of our own brothers, who knows one day we may save each others lives thanks to the decreased responce time in calling an immediat neighbor.. any opinions or comments?

  20. Any idea where we can locate a copy of those FDNY SOP's? Also has any one thought about what you would do if for some reason the stand pipe as inoperable? or no stand pipes in the building? would u stretch 2 1/2 or 3 inch up the stair well? or would u consider lifting the line by rope into a window on the floor below? and connect your attack line from there? just wondering what every one things plan B would be if something goes wrong... lets think alittle outside the box before we acutally face the problem...
  21. Does any one else take issue with trucks with tower ladder platfroms being called ladders, rather then tower ladder?, It is a Tower Ladder why not be given a number and listed as a tower ladder? i think this could be a problem when a department is specially looking for a straight stick and there could be some confussion...
  22. i couldn;t agree more that things would be alot better the way kentland and other companies dispatch and would love to see it happen up here, the question is will it ever happen? and whats it goin to take to impliment?
  23. Here in Hartsdale we Ran 31 alarms, with varriations between a car crashed through CVS on central ave... several EMS calls, 2 or 3 class related to candels in the home, numerious comercial and residential fire alarms, outside smoke investigations 2 car accidents and several stuck occupied elevators.. in addition to running these alarms we went to every high rise building containing elevators and located every one to make sure they were empty... we had back up generators for the computers, TV.. and A/C... Staffing was increased with the day and nite crews held... 3 FF's and a Capt on Eng 170 ( the Day crew ) Eng 171 was placed in service with 3 FF's and a CApt.. (the nite crew) Eng 169 had 2 FF's and a deputy chief... Car 2172 had a deputy chief Car 2174 Had a FF and a DEputy Chief and TL -15 Had 1 FF and ONe LT.. ( Being My Self) 1 interesting alarm was a auto matic fire alarm on topland road with TL-15 and Car 2172 assigned due to Engs 169,170, and 171 all assigned other calls... 2172 requested a mutual aid eng and was informened that Fairview, Greenville, Elmsford and Scarsdale were all occupied... interest pulling up to a structure with no fire supression other then a water can and a Dry chem extinguisher... I even tried to call CM36 via nextel to attempt to get a Ardsley eng... but most nextels were down...
