  3. Any pernient info is good to give with your on scene report. If you got the plug then let the incoming units know. How about this- E999 on the scene with a 2 story wood frame nothing showing from the Alpha division. E999 got the hydrant in front Estblishing the Anywhere command...... My department has went to calling the sides of buildings divisions. It gets alittle confusing but everyone has gotten use to it
  4. Update- The three guys that are still hospitalized are doing better. LT Voulisin is stable and is going for surgery on his pelvis tomorrow. His spirits are high and is doing well. The docs told him he will be on his feet on tuesday if everything goes well. FF/EMT MJ Chaddick had surgery Friday and a plate was put in his face to repair his frx orbit and yesterday he had surgery on his neck to refuse a vertebrea. He is also doing well. FF/EMT Phil McElroy was moved from ICU yesterday to a truama unit floor. The surgery he had Thurday evening was to repair the artery in his lower left leg that was pinned. Blood flow to the leg is good and he was able to wiggle his toes yesterday! That was awsome to see him do that! Thanks for your prayers cause we need it! www.horrycountyfirerescue.com

  8. My Deparment went to plain english within the past 2 years and yes it was hard at first to stop using 10 codes but you will get use to it in time. The only 10 codes that we are allowed to use are 1. when a pt is dead which is 10-7 2. when the apparatus is OOS/broke down (i dont even know that code). 3. A bomb scare ten code we have to use and cannot use plain engilish. 4. when we are in danger we say Signal 10 and shut off the radio if involed in a domestic, fight ect. The only other one that i gaurentee you will continue to use is 10-4. Thats the hardest thing not to say on the radio. The department and ECC has learned to accept that and we still use it.
  9. james obrien? isnt he a pointer?
  10. Depending on what the HAZMAT is and if you get in the HOT zone you will be losing everything you are wearing.
  11. 5 years later.......I will never forget September 11th 2001. I will never forget riding on the back of a Town of cortlandt garbage truck and my driver yelling out the cab window telling us what was happening, then seeing the F-16's flying over my head, headed towards the city....god bless all the familys left behind and god bless the 343 brothers and sisters we lost that day and all the Po's. I know today at work at the fire house we will pay respect to thoses that lost thier lives and remember what happened while others forget.

  19. How about the ones in Coachlight square in Montorse FD/Verplanck FD. Last time i was there i think i counted around 20 and its less then a half-mile loop. It would take an extra 5 mins to get out when transporting a PT to the ER. cant say i them things. It was even better when i use to work for the town on a garbage truck and the driver would forget about them or not even no about them, it use to send us for a ride on the back of the trucks!
