Ok my Department has gone to fuel restrictions. Meaning we can not leave the station unless we get a call. The only excepetions are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Thoses days we can go out and do training,mapping,surveys. The only time we can go get food is when we are returning from a call. Most days i bring food to atleast cover me till lunch. Most of the time we will get a call and are able to stop on the way back and pick up dinner. Well today we havent had a call and my LT will not let us leave the station to go get food. Does your department have restrictions in place? When are you allowed to go out? Thanks for letting me VENT! Hungry in SC! :angry:

Nice site overall. . 2 things that i suggest- get rid of the flames following the mouse on the main page. 2- add the specs of all your trucks (ie; year,pump capcity,tank size, who made them. Again nice site. very user friendly

We practice getting our SCBA's on while belted in. Its really not that hard. Just something to practice at. To be honest i hate wearing my seatbelt but i always do!

Why doesnt the County start a Fire/Rescue Department. Westchester County Fire/Rescue. Start staffing stations with people and staffing ambulances. No to get rid of all vollies but us them to supplement the career staff

Our local Medical helicopter is alerted via pager and phone call to there base dispatcher by our dispatch for all falls greater then 15ft, pedestrian struck by vehicle, all motorcylce mva's and all entrapment calls. This helps us out a great deal to have them on stand by at the time of dispatch since our closest level 1 tramua center is 2hrs! The flight crew will even lift off on there own depending on were it is in the county before a unit gets on scene to determine if they are needed or not.
