Esopus still uses its siren and it goes off for all calls at any time of day, and sounds off at Noon everyday plus a test that is done on Wednesday evening around 7PM usually. It is actually kind of nice to have, because if I am outside doing something and don't have my pager or in many cases I barley get enough single for the pager, so listening for the siren is a quick way for me to know for sure if something is going on.

I have a PRO-95 scanner and I am thinking of getting a Diamond RH77CA to replace my current antenna. There our a lot of positive reviews of the RH77CA and I was curious what some local people thought. If you got a RH77CA do you think it improved you reception.

My dept is looking at installing a sound system in our firehouse and I am curious what other people have done for their own firehouse sound system. We are thinking of something that a DJ can use or a microphone can be plugged into for special events that are held at the station. Also something that we might use to broadcast fire dispatches throught the building on normal days when nothing special is happening. So I was wondering if any one else had any other requirments I am not thinking of or maybe an example of a setup you have now and like.

I believe offices can't run the election but active firefighters can. I think people can hang around the building they just can't be in the room were voting takes place or be in the hallway blocking the way to voting. I also belive there is no campaigning with in 100 feet of the polling place.

Yeah we use it in during a job this year, for our water supply, we had tankers hook up to supply the engine that was providing water for the attack lines. We have also used it several times at drills.
