  1. Let me elaborate some more....the department gets the $1 rescue, as a "gateway" into getting the brand new rescue they really want. I've seen numerous departments manage to get apparatus they don't really need replaced in this manner. Most Village officials don't have a clue about how FD's operate, so they can be easily swindled by Chiefs. Most Fire Districts are clandestine, and can get away with anything and this is how some Districts facilitate purchases.

  3. It doesn't specify whether Phoenix is going to upgrade their Knox Box system to the one "both people" have to turn the key.
  4. Does anyone know what East Fishkill is replacing their Tower Ladder 39-46 with? I see the old one is up for sale.
  5. To you as well. Happy Easter/Passover all!

  8. Does that mean the equipment can only be used for burglaries, or for revenue-producing traffic enforcement as well? I know some of these systems pay for themselves, lol.
  9. I remember when he did his field time with Bill and I! Congrats!

  12. I'm not very familiar with tanker or rural water supply operations. I'm just wondering how LDH units, such as Bedford, Pound Ridge, and Brewster have that carry of around 5,000 feet of 5" hose can benefit a water supply operation. Can they use the hose to pump from a hydrant or water source, instead of using tankers? Or are they used to pump from tankers to the fire scene? Or both?
  13. It's photos like this that make you want to put all that rubbish aside. Incident information: http://lafd.blogspot.com/2014/04/san-pedro-elks-lodge-heavily-damaged-by.html
  14. I love how realistic this show can be, especially during calls. Last night's episode, the Chief was arrested for ordering his men to close the road after despite warnings from a Trooper not to.
  15. Study I just found, don't know if it's been posted on here. Looks like it was released in December 2013 by PSSI. THE EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS OF FIRE AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES CITY OF NEW ROCHELLE, NEW YORK http://www.newrochelleny.com/index.aspx?nid=1010 The only thing I don't like is it seems we're not going to see a replacement for the 14-year old Tower Ladder until at least 2016....maybe sooner if United Water pays the city back?
