I didn't say the public should be censored, I more meant about the people taking the video getting in the Police Officers face, for example, questioning the arrest while the officer is still dealing with the suspect, and other "aggressive" forms of getting the video. And what are the consequences when the video is presented without any context? Also, on the side of the suspect or victim, what are their rights regarding the video being posted? Has social media changed the game? Again, these are only discussion points I obtained from reading several different articles.

I was simply presenting a topic for discussion. Notice the question marks in my post.

I read an article a while back, pondering the term "Nothing Showing". It was an interesting point, when you arrive, what does the term "Nothing Showing mean? Are you at a place at the structure where you can't see fire blowing out? Does your department say it after doing a walk around? Now, there are departments that say "Nothing Showing, Investigating." Are you investigating nothing showing? Or would it be better to say "On Scene Investigating"? Have you ever been to a fire where nothing was showing, and upon hearing that from the first due, become complacent that nothing was going on and let your attack readiness go? There are a lot of factors in the response depending on this term, how do you or your department interpret it?

I used to be loyal to a couple of different brands, but working in some many different brands over the years has made me feel that each manufacturer has something different to offer. Also, with any brand, dealer service and support after the sale can make or break the purchase. One of my favorite manufacturers is Excellance Ambulance . They build a very rugged and durable custom module that's life can go on through remounts several times over.. Another ambulance brand that I like is Lifeline. They build a solid module, and are able to offer several custom interiors geared towards safety, like the progressive IMS system where everything is at your reach seated. Still, my favorite Type II "van" ambulance is the AEV Traumahawk

Looks great, thanks for the photos! What will this Engine be first due on? And is it replacing TL-12 in the bay?

Exactly! It evens happens in busier VAC's too. Then usually after the mutual aid musical chairs is finally settled, another call always comes in and the game is started again.

I've had Dash-Flash products sent to me for review by Dash Flash, our sponsor, and they are quality products at a low cost. I'll be posting some photos in August of the products I received and how easy they are to use and mount. Also, I must say Ed is a great guy offering top-notch, responsive customer service.

Did a little homework on this with some credible sources and here's what I came up with: -Dispatcher is a promotion for Danbury Firefighters, one that comes with Lieutenant's pay. . -PD and FD Dispatch, which are still separate centers, were both supposed to move together into the new PD on Main Street when it opened, but the Police Chief didn't want Firefighters in the secure areas. -Police Officers fully staff the PD Dispatch Center, taking Officers off the street. Basically, the jist I get is there's no reason to be paying a Police Officer or Fire Lieutenant to sit behind a radio in two separate dispatch centers when their are so many other qualified candidates for professional civilian dispatchers in the City Of Danbury who can do so without having to contract with a private company for staffing (management maybe).

Looking to see adopted social media use policies from Fire, Police, EMS, or 911 Agencies. If you have a digital copy that you can share, please send it to seth@EMTBravo.com . All submissions and people who submit will be kept anonymous. This data will be used in a research and development project to better EMTBravo. Seth

Do County PD Officers working Mount Kisco (Or Ossining or Cortland for that matter) have to have specific knowledge or special training (through a memo or whatever) of the sometimes intricate and specific local laws and ordinances? And will Mount Kisco get a preference for Spanish speaking officers, since a portion of the area they serve is Spanish as the first language?

I don't want to hijack the topic, but I had to respond the above. I was homeless for a period recently. Literally living on the streets homeless in Los Angeles. I was treated MUCH differently then someone who is a "high end taxpayer"....especially when you consider those "high end taxpayers" were living just a few miles away in Beverly Hills. I walked..no at that point dragged myself.....several miles to a hospital, making my condition/injuries significantly worse, because I was embarrassed and worried of the EMS stigma of homeless people abusing the system. I've paid both income and properties taxes for many years.....but unfortunately, I was down on my luck for a period of time....why should response times be any different for me when I was homeless then a "high end taxpayer"? Shouldn't response times be the same for EVERY human being, despite whatever stigma blankets a group of people? And maybe if we are worried about the "homeless drunks" abusing the system stereotype....maybe we should blame our healthcare and social services system....or even sadder, our VA system. Or, maybe our EMS systems not interfacing with a social service system to get people long term help. It's not as easy as you think for a homeless person to get the consistent long term help him/her needs. </rant>

Is it acceptable for a mid mount tower ladder to fully extend in the center of the rear of the truck?

The first time I saw it, I thought it was a police car. And I question the safety of arriving on the scene as EMS and being perceived as PD, as well as the color choice. At least go with blue.
