FDNY has recently awarded a bid for 300 ambulances in the amount of $114,646,958.70 to Wheeled Coach Industries. This includes standard Type I ambulances and also lists Rescue Medic ambulances, Medium Duty ambulances, and 4x4 ambulances. Anyone with more details please feel free to post. That's a good question. I've never seen a MNRR Vac truck before. I don't know if that particular unit and it's operators are on an emergency call list like Con Ed's are, but hopefully someone on here does. I know Con Ed's vac trucks are. That truck seems to look, at least, much more powerful and can travel and access areas via rail as well. Leaf vac trucks and sewer vac trucks are two separate things. Leaf vac trucks create an airflow to pick up leaves. Sewer vac trucks create a powerful suction to remove mud and other debris from sewers and catch basiins, and that suction is powerful enough to pull from below grade into the tank.
