This is another example of why EVERY public safety facility should have closed circuit camera systems. They are certainly affordable enough and easy to operate nowadays.

The Western Star vocational truck chasis is becoming very popular in New York State as of late. New York State Thruway, whose plow fleet is comprised mainly of International's, has added dozens of 2015 Western Star 4700's to their fleet this year, equipped with Viking-Cives plow mounts and hoists, and Smith Spreaders. They also come with a dump body for the spring and summer months, removable in order to mount the spreader.

This exam title is for Public Works Dispatcher it seems. The exam for 60 Control and WCPD Communications is titled "Communications Operator".

Is there any sort of rule on how many patients can be transported in the back of an ambulance? I've seen different views all over the place, basically it depends on how many patients can fit. That theory should correlate to how many patients can be safely secured? But shouldn't there be a ratio regarding how many people the EMT can actually treat at once?

Have any local Hudson Valley area emergency services resources been deployed upstate or placed on standby yet? Someone had mentioned that Westchester DES has specified criteria and queried units for standby for possible deployment, but I haven't seen anything official yet. I know that numerous DOT resources have been dispatched already to remove snow and clear roads. Did DSNY (NYC Sanitation) send any snow removal equipment? Is FDNY being deployed more for the potential that there's going to be some massive flooding and they're going to need lots of help and different types of equipment, like evacuation trucks and dewatering pumps.....which FDNY has gotten lots of recently as part of post-Sandy grants and preparations.
