  1. There's something I never thought I'd hear!! LOL PDT_Armataz_10
  2. #2. LMAO!!! #3. ROTFLMAO!!! #4. Why aren't you making a White Castle run??? Thanks for the laugh, JM!
  3. Same thing goes on with door handles, grab handles, etc. I wonder how many agency's actually properly disinfect and clean the interior of their ambulance on a regular basis??
  4. Some great insight on this thread. In regards to some of the above mentioned resources, how fast would you be able to get those resources there, especially 5'oclock on a Friday afternoon??? In regard to the airport crash truck, yes, it is definelty a resource we can call, but how long would it take to get to 9A? This IS going to happen again, since the state will continue to neglect the deathtrap of a road 9A is. If anything, Briarcliff needs to have an engine capable of applying foam immediately.
  5. I was curious how your agency communicates with the recieving hospital. Are you still even required to notify? It seems the HEAR radio system is mostly broken and non functional. Some ambulances don't even have one anymore, nor do some hospitals. If they do, it seems to be broken or in use by a taxi company. I rely on my cell phone for notifications and medical control, but find it frustarating, especially in Northern Westchester where coverage is spotty at best. In Lewisboro/North Salem/Pound Ridge/Bedford, its for the most part non-existent. Is it time for Westchester County DES to start looking into this issue? I think so. It's time for a new system, IMO a UHF encrypted repeater type system......cell phones are too unreliable.
  6. I use an i305 at work, it seems to work much, much better than my personal i730, which sucks for a number of reasons! I'm seriously contemplating other options, but unforutnetly, direct conact has me tied down to Nextel. Unfortunetly, Nextel probaly knows this...which is why they do not care. If only another company made a compatible w/ Nextel Iden wireless DC network. There needs to be some competition.
  7. Congrats to both!!!

  9. Oh, I forget, Customer service and billing via their 1800 number is absolutely awful.
  10. I have been having these issue as well. Cannot raise certain people, get cut off in the middle of DC's, phone doesnt ring or alert when I get a call, etc. I really hate Nextel. I could be really saving a lot of money if I went with a company that has better plans, such as Cingular wireless. The only reason why I have, and stay with, Nextel, is because the Direct Connect is so convient and, IMO, a neccesary part of being in this business. It makes coomnicating so much easier and efficient. Otherwise, Nextel would be dumped in an instant.
  11. Info on the new building: http://www.seagrave.com/About_Us/News/Pres...ess/060304.html

  13. Interesting "classic" IA. Sad and tragic though.
  14. Katonah FD Chili Night November 3rd, 2004 I saw a sign on Route 117 at 3 in the morning. Maybe someone can fill me/us in with further details about this event.
  15. The Mount Vernon 2nd Alarm Discussion thread over in the IAW forum, as well as a thread in this forum, got me thinking.... This will probaly go over like a loud fart in church, but here it goes......this is for discussion purposes only, and opinion based, so don't attack me or anyone else. Only constructive comments will be tolerated. The combination of infastructure Wouldn't it be a good idea if Mount Vernon, Pelham, Pelham Manor, and New Rochelle merged or created a merged response plan??? I would think that this would be an effective way to boost manpower, improve training, better allocation and distrubution of equipment. Why is it really neccesary for each department to have there own seperate department and all the other things that go along with it? Especially when they go to everbody elses fires as well. Is it really effective for each department to have the huge one department structure they currently have, or would one unified structure benefit everyone? And while I'm stirring the pot here, why not add a dash of EMS to go with it. They could intergrate a ALS Ambulance or two into each city and or/station. Whaddya think?
  16. Looks hot! Would be nice with some new updated graphics, but LVAC is pretty low-key/classic with those kinda things.
  17. Thanks for serving our country and protecting us brothers!!!
  18. Are battery powered devices as strong as hydraulic powered devices?? Is this system going to be primary or supplemental?
  19. IT DID NOT SNOW YET!!! [-X [-(
  20. Hot rig!! I'll have to put that on my to-get list for the next time I am in NH, along with finding the tree-service/painters BHFD Snorkel 1.
  21. Wow. VVAC has come a long way in rigs.....first the vans until the late 90's .....then the McCoy Millers Mini-Mods.....now I assume full size "Cadillac" PL Customs? Any photos yet?
  22. Thanks people.........I'm feeling a little better today. EMTBravo says the new webspace should be active hopefully today or tommorow, and the updates will continue then. Have some photos in the queue ready to go. But keep in mind, I've been out of the loop fo a few days, so I'm behind in a lot of things, so bear with me.
