  3. I'm not generally a rear mount tower ladder kind of guy, but this is one nice Seagrave rear mount tower ladder, especially since it has the Aerialscope bucket. Wish Seagrave made this in a mid-mount with the full walkway ladder. This one is serving Laurel, MD, in Prince George's County, and is a 2015 Seagrave Marauder II with a 105' Rear Mount Apollo II Tower Ladder. 11. RIP. I've always been afraid of something like this personally, and whenever I enter I try to always make sure I'm clearly saying "ambulance" loudly and several times, and try to shine a flashlight or see what's around the corner or in the room before I actually enter that room. But there's really no way of preventing something like this especially when the victim has altered mental status and a weapon.

  13. Quick question....what does the Mount Vernon Shift Commander identify as on the radio? Listening to the fire currently I am hearing Battalion, Battalion 3, and Car 2 used interchangeably.
  14. Interesting read, and interesting the way they present the report. Much different then what's done here. Very detailed as well. REPORT: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bwa97LadhSs1bGhEdzZnSVlZVzg/view

  16. I think everybody is going to be lulled into complacency because of the fail of the last "Blizzard" and the pushback against the media hype. I think we are going to get walloped by this one. I'm kind of looking forward to it, especially if I don't lose power or TV and I can get some shots of Greenburgh and Ardsley Highway Dept plows in action. And this was an interesting article. 20. That episode was fascinating. Really ultra-modern and progressive ARFF emergency facilities and equipment they have over the at Frankfurt Airport in Germany. I also loved the "Safer Then Stairs" firehouse slide from the second floor to the first! When you get there, you have your own turnout gear stand right next to the truck. I also liked the feature where you can start the truck to get it warmed up from the outside of the truck while you are putting on your gear, and the "city bus" style doors and step that makes for really easy entry. The 8x8 Ziegler ARFF trucks that are 54 tons, have two 700HP engines, with 3,000 gallons of water, 200 gallons of foam, and 1200 pounds of dry powder, and can go 90 miles an hour to cover the 3.5 square mile runway response area looked fun to drive. It's neat how everything relates to one another to shave off seconds here and there to meet a mandatory 2 minute or less response time. The SCBA bottles with their own turnout coat/sleeve and remote control ARFF training props were pretty neat as well. And those high tech De-Icing trucks make you wonder why they can't incorporate that into the fire service.
