  1. This is GREAT news! I love Emergency, and Adam 12!! I wonder how they are going to do this, I hope they do the "Complete X Season" thing and throw in some bonus features. Boy I hope this rumor is true!! From www.TVShowsOnDVD.com :
  2. Just a heads up, there is an awesome, comprehensive, and well-researched/written profile of White Plains FD in this month's "Fire Apparatus Journal". The article was written and photographed by Joe Pinto, with assistance provided by WPFD Deputy Chief John Cullen. This article covers the history of WPPD, the staffing, the apparatus, the stations and locations, and the apparatus assignment location, as well as detailed information about the fleet....and of course, photos! I know there has been a lot of interest in the WPFD operations on this board, and this article will defeintly answer a lot of questions and clear up a lot of things. Another great Westchester profile in FAJ, I hope Bed Hills is next!!!
  3. I told 60 Control to keep you busy until 0000, not 2300. You can always tell when you are on a job, lol!!!! Sorry for my diversion, Now back to the topic at hand....
  4. I really like this cool idea, and I think it has potential. But I'm worried about the board having too many sections and getting difficult to naviagte....one member has already expressed this concern. If this forum is added, will this be an issue??? As far as the food while working goes, too bad we don't get meals or even time to grab something while working the bus...right Skooter?? LOL
  5. Awesome! I wonder if any will be at Harrisburg this weekend???
  6. From "The Secret List" www.firefighterclosecalls.com
  7. I'd like to see this program in Westchester, only with Nurses instead of Doctors. It seems like most of the MD's are cool, but the nurses really have no clue what it's like in the field.
  8. I've got a solution...GET RID OF 46.26 altogether!! Then we won't be having these issues!
  9. Individual copies of FAJ can be ordered online from: www.fire-police-ems.com (Hundreds Of Fire,PD, and EMS books) Here's a direct link to the May-June issue: http://www.fire-police-ems.com/books/bf020505.shtml Also, copies can sometimes also be found in Borders Books.
  10. I have that question posed to me all the time. I have to shoo them away with a stick. The problem is the lack of hot ED nurses in this county, lol! Go across the line to CT or NJ or MA, and wow! Getting back to topic, as far as the ride alongs.....many ED nurses and nurses in general really have no respect or understanding for what we do. A program like this would really improve the working relationships.
  11. How are the guys liking the new Engine 4? I haven't heard much about the HME "Ahrens Fox" craftsmanship at all. Seems like a low bid type of apparatus, but I don't know much about the brand since it is pretty new. I've always hoped to see a Seagrave or Pierce (Arrow XT) in the City Of Stamford. Guess I will just have to keep hoping.
  12. Apparatuswise: Anyone hear anything about anyone getting a new engine, truck, rescue, tanker, chiefs cars, etc in the near future or 2005???? If so, share the dirt with us here on this thread, even if its just a rumor or speculation at this point!!! In addition, if anyone can confirm or straighten out/add to the info, let us know here! I've heard a rumor Bedford Village is getting a new Seagrave engine.
  13. Great photo of the Firehouse! Makes it look totally different and like it's in a different location other then congested downtown PC.
  14. I was watching Third Watch today on A & E, and EMS was on scene of an significant industrial entrapment. They requested the FDNY EMS Surgeon to the scene for a possible amputation of a leg so they could free the guy who was going into shock. When he responded, he had a Morning Pride EMS Jacket with the wording "FDNY EMS Surgeon" on the back. My question is, I know that the top MC doctors have response vehicles, but is there an actual FDNY*EMS surgeon who responds to scenes to do this kinda stuff? I'm doubtful this is a real position, but interested if it is how it works.
  15. Interesting, thanks! It seemed a little far fetched on Third Watch, but not totally unrealistic.
  16. Thanks to you and 786XP for the info! Hope to see photos when they come in..... Sounds like the entire frontline SFRD fleet is mostly up to date now.
  17. Syracuse just got a HUGE tandem axle American Lafrance Rescue. I;m hoping to see a Pierce Arrow XT Rescue for Yonkers, lol!!!
  18. Bedford Hills Mini-Attack 9 (Or Tac-9 in my book) is better then ever! Checkout this link for info and tons of pre and post refurbishment photos by Cutty630 & Hooks057. http://www.emtbravo.com/Spec2/MA9Refurb.html Also, FDNYTrucks.com just posted a photo of MA-9 as well.
  19. Thanks Tommy!! Very nicely explained for what seems to be a tricky thing to explain! I wonder if that process works well, or if it could be streamlined more? Seems kinda complicated and intensive. Also it will be interesting to see the changes the future holds, and how they go about renovating the CO's. Wonder what they will look like and how they will be set up.
  20. At one time, Mack Fire Apparatus was the predominant brand in Westchester. Who was the dealer that handled Westchester accounts and where were they located? They were built in Allentown,PA correct? (Not a trivia question, just curious lol)
  21. Thoughts and prayers to those involved. Riding in the back of that ambulance is one of the most dangerous things we do.
  22. Was flipping through the channels the other night when I caught this awesome parody music video ""Bad, Bad Man" by John Cena on Spike TV. It's the A-Team in action, complete with Mr. T and stunts, set to a pretty nice beat (for the premise). Also parody's the 1980's, and guest stars Gary Coleman. Check it out: Go to: http://www.wwe.com/superstars/smackdown/jo..._cena/index.jsp And click on: "Watch the new video"
  23. In one of the opening scenes of tonights final "Third Watch", the firefighters are sitting around watching a movie before they learn of the explosion, and one of them remarks "Look, our rig made the cover of Fire Apparatus Journal this month". He even has the actual copy of the last issue in his hand!! Awesome! And on top of this, the ficitonal Ferrara Squad 55 WAS in the magazine last month!! Fire Apparatus Journal is one of my favorite magazines!
