Awesome! The site is growing and progressing quite nicely! :-) Let's remember though, Engine-Quint-Squad 33 is the best in the county! That ride along was GREAT- I learned so much from it and the members of 33! Can't wait to see all the photos!

UPDATE:

Great passage! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I also must add, all year around should be the time to reconize these fine citizens. Many of them are lonely, or in poor health, and just a little companionship and show of appreciations goes a long way, they really treasure their past. Even a short converstation can reveal some amazing stories from the years gone by, many of which we can all learn from.

I really like this passage that came out of the LAFD Public Information Office:

Yesterday marked the 230th birthday of the United States Marine Corp. They are an intergal part of why we have the freedoms we have today, and am proud to know many former marines who are great people. Celebrating the Marine Corps Birthday is EMTBravo Network Moderator ALSFirefighter- an ex-Marine himself.

This article was published in Slate.com, which has been known for several articles they published that slammed the fire service. This article raises some interesting points.

The Official Website Of Probie Class 03-2005: http://www.westchestergov.com/emergserv/academy/academy.htm Class Photos: http://www.westchestergov.com/emergserv/academy/probpics.htm Side note.....I think quite possibly we have the best mix of instructors I have ever seen in this class. Capt. Ferguson (Greenville, Director) Lt. Van Voorhies (White Plains, Executive Officer) Capt. Dempsey (Eastchester) DC Gerardi (Fairview) FFPM MacPherson (Peekskill, Scottish) and everybody else that's pitching in to give us a solid foundation....and most important, we have a class of 37 awesome probies who are quickly developing into one big family! The best firefighters to ever come out of that academy will graduate December 16th. I'm so proud to have my name listed there! I'm sure the page will be updated with more photos as our adventures progress....hopefully with more of Squad 1!!!!!

Photos of our trip to the airport today have been posted on EMTBravo.com I can't believe we are in our 9th week, with 23 class days left!!! Exciting, but sad in a way...I will miss all involved a lot...weekends are bad enough! But savoring ery day.... Many things continue to be learned and developed. The class is currently preparing for our CPAT test, which is scheduled for one week from this Friday. Everybody is doing excellent during the second round of practice CPATs currently underway, with the average probie bringing their time down from last weeks first round of practice by 20 seconds or more. Tommorow, Squads 1,3,5 go with LV2 to White Plains burn building, and Squads 2,4,6 are going with Capt. Ferguson and Capt. Dempsey to Scarsdale.

Looks GREAT! Packed with information! Don't forget to add it to the Toplist links page: http://emtbravo.net/index.php?act=toplist

I like the roll-up door over the pump panel. Stylistically, it's quite attractive. But I imagine it has some practicality as well, such as keeping dirt and debris from the pump panel, and snow and ice off in the wintertime.

It looks like it may be the end of the road for Firehouse USA. I think the show was poorly done by DSC and BFD, but nonetheless being the Boston FD enthusiast I am I did enjoy it....I hope they will at least release it on DVD. Discovery Channel has bumped it to Sunday evenings at 1700 (5PM) There are only three new episodes left, airing on the next 3 Sundays. They are as follows: DSC — Firehouse USA: Boston Changing of the Guard NOV 13 2005 @ 05:00 PM The firehouse says goodbye to longtime Captain Paul Carey. His replacement brings about some changes that the guys arent happy about. The firefighters battle a huge porch fire. DSC — Firehouse USA: Boston Lightning Strikes NOV 20 2005 @ 05:00 PM A major thunder storm hits Boston, leaving havoc in its wake. The guys take on major blazes in a restaurant and a residential attic DSC — Firehouse USA: Boston The Academy NOV 27 2005 @ 05:00 PM A new class of recruits begins a grueling 14-week training course at the Boston Fire Academy. The veterans at Huntington Avenue deal with a medical emergency at a rock concert and a life-threatening apartment fire.

(It also airs sporadically on MTV2, but who wants to wade through all the hip hop/pop crap that plagues that channel to watch it) Comprehensive information on the show: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beavis_and_Butthead Rog and Rerun are back too! "What's Happening" will now be airing regularly on TV land, kicking off with a 48hr marathon this weekend! Comprehensive information on the show: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What%27s_Happening%21%21

So, recently I had the oppurtunity to use a Hurst-brand tool(s) for the first time, and I was not impressed at all. They seemed very heavy and akward to use. The spreaders took two people to hold, and could be very fatiguing at a bigger incident. I don't know if it's because the tools I used were older models, but the firefighters I spoke with who used the tools say they come that way even nowadays. I also had the oppurtunity to use both Lukas and Amkus brand tools, which were much lighter and seemingly just as powerful. Interestingly enough, Hurst bought Lukas, which is now Hurst Centaur brand and Hurst has also incorporated Lukas designs into their newer models. I hear a lot of good things about Holomatro, but have never used them. Not having much experience with pins or Hurst brand tools......is it just me, or is Hurst living on a legend?? I don't know...it just seems to me all the other manufacturers are coming up with these advances way before Hurst.

I can now see why Delta is doing so poorly. They are stupid. The Song brand was a nice and fun way to fly and way better then mainline Delta. They spend all this money to retrofit and repaint planes, train new crew members, and do everything else required to create a new brand, only to shut it down when it's doing well a couple of years later. The jetBlue fan and stockholder in me is quite happy though. All Song was was a jetBlue knockoff....and this should increase buisness for B6.

From a press release just posted.... I thought ALF was doing well for Freightliner. Definetly unexpected news by me. I wonder what this will mean for ALF, and all it's related chasis and products.

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office is responsible for the investigation and determination of the cause and manner of all sudden, violent, or unusual deaths in the County. Take a look at their Special Operations Response team vehicle by going to LAFirePhotos.com http://www.lafirephotos.com/wallpaper/laco...r/cornermed.jpg Just figured I'd share it because it's so cool and unique.....
