  2. Check this out: (Thanks to Hudson144 for enlightening me to this site) http://www4.passur.com/hpn.html (Give it a minute to load all the traffic onto the map. Remember to zoom out to 40-80 Miles for a good view. Double click on the plane for info. There's certainly a lot of air traffic over the area) And to check out the other area airports: JFK: http://www4.passur.com/jfk.html Newark-Liberty: http://www4.passur.com/ewr.html Laguardia: http://www4.passur.com/lga.html
  3. I'm just wondering where you can find the best hot dogs in the EMTBravo area??? And what makes them special? Walters is great, but I know there has to be a ton of other places, whether they are found in roadside trucks or someplace else. Theres a ton of ways different places cook them as well. Also, recently, I noticed a place on Mamaroneck Ave. in White Plains called "Diggity Dog", anybody ever try that place? Also anybody been to the place in Jersey that deep-fries the hot dogs? And my favorite toppings are ketchup, mustard, and saurkraut.
  4. According to TVShowsOnDVD.com, Emergency-The Complete 2nd Season is due out on DVD February 7th!! Here's the info: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=4545
  5. Well, now it appears that Firehouse USA has been cancelled. The show, which the remaining episodes were removed from Tuesdays and bumped to Sunday afternoons, have been pulled of the Discovery Channels schedule. Additionally, the shows website and link on the Discovery page has disappeared. (There is one still that can be found through a search, but it is the old, outdated one) Discovery Channel did a really lousy job on this show, from choosing the location to filming to editing to narrating to promoting the show. This had a lot of potential, IMO....and I hope this doesn't set a precedent for other general public firefighting shows. There is a RUMOR that the remaining episodes will air in December, but DSC has changed their story so many times with the airings of this show that when it airs, I will believe it. As bad as it was, I will still mis it, as I am a big Boston buff.
  6. Check out this interesting video to the tune of Social Distortions "Ring Of Fire"....some pretty interesting scenes and situations the firefighters are in. http://www.jusspress.com/day.php?userid=44...rentTime=115056 While I'm on the topic, whatever happened to DJ DFFD227?

  11. I've bought several pairs from them, and always have had great service. Until i found this site, I used to buy from Galls....but they are such a rip off, which is why I googled to try to find another site which I found: www.bootbay.com Almost every boot imaginable, AWESOME prices, and free shipping PLUS no sales tax. You can't beat that. The site is really credible, quite the find, and awesome. I've ordered from them several times.

  17. Does anyone know what that green/white Jet-Engine looking thing is at the WCFTC??? The object that sits between the mask confidence and overhead traverse bars? I have heard many different theories, but no one seems to know for sure what exactly it is. Any ideas???
  18. Recently, I have heard of many departments planning or considering building their own "training center". Among my ponderings today, I thought of something. Are these departments building a training center, or are they building drill grounds???? I think there is a significant difference between the two places. A training center, is like WCFTC.....a regional, dedicated, fully equipped and modern place to learn new skills and practice current ones, that is staffed by certified, experienced fire instructors at an appropriate ratio. A drill grounds is a dedicated place for a department to go, most likely in their community, to train in house and locally to hone and practice skills often. These drill grounds have structures to train in, etc but are not fully fledged training centers, as described above. I was wondering if anyone else felt there was a difference between the two types of training facilities??? I think community drill grounds can be a good idea, but I think it would be detrimental to everyone for a department to try and compete with WCFTC, or neglect its services.
  19. Thanks for the heads up! The D200 sounds awesome! I'm sure the price will drop a few months after the holidays....I hope! I'd like to try it.
