Gearbox, a diecast replica manufacturer, in conjunction with the City of White Plains and Westchester Collectibles, will produce an die-cast Chevrolet Impala lettered for White Plains PD and Ford Expedition for White Plains FD 2512. Due in September, it will be a dealer exclusive from Westchester Collectibles I'll be adding these to my collection without a doubt. Now since this is possible, maybe we could see a Greenburgh PD Ford Expedition Car 71, or a Yonkers PD ESU Tahoe?

75 photos from Truck4 and tbendicks trip to San Francisco (and LA) have been posted, www.emtbravo.com. All photos by Truck4 of OnTheJobNY.com There are many great photos in this spread, including photos from San Francisco's 1906 Great Earthquake 100th Anniversary Exposition which includes a lot of vintage apparatus, many current San Francisco apparatus shots, some from San Fran operating at a job, photos from in and around San Fran and even a job from LA with LAFD Engine 1's Pierce Arrow XT and LAFD Truck 1 with the shops custom made "Seagrave Style" grill. Other suprises in there include the LA County Helicopter rescue simulator and the real Baywatch boat. Check it out, www.emtbravo.com. I really have to get out to San Francisco, it seems awesome....I also like the many fleet shots from SFFD, because you don't see too many on the 'net.

Thanks for the info, and all the other agents for the info! Now hmmmmmm. I shot this demo E-One Rescue that was at Norwalk FD HQ's on 3-29-06 with x901, and at the time was the Northeast region E-One rescue demo. As of mid-May, this was still floating around as a demo. I don't know if this is it or not, but figured I'd post the photo anyways. (This is the photo version of a possibilty rumor)

OK, I feel very out of the loop. I had heard that Mount Vernon was planning a new rescue a few months back, but never heard much else but that. Today, I was told secondhand that Mount Vernon was expecting delivery of a new rescue THIS week!! Does anybody have any confirmation on this, and if so, what they are expecting? I find it strange that I haven't heard anything about it, but I'm hearing someone has seen in-process photos? There seems to be some apparatus orders and deliveries slipping by me and this board. Remember, if you hear of any apparatus news or information that's shareable, please share with this board and us hungry area apparatus buffs here on the forum! And we remind and invite those who have factual knowledge who see rumors or inaccuracies to post and straighten these out! Also, SPY SHOTS and NEW DELIVERY Photos are always welcomed at EMTBravo.com!

Tonight, on WNBC, there was a program entitled "Janes New York: Governors Island". I am now fascinated by this island, want to learn more about it's history, and take a trip over there. It's like frozen in time! Many neat buidlings just abandoned. Another neat feature of this show is they did a segment on the FDNY outpost that is there, with a ton of cool shots of the ALF Engine they are using. Don't know if they repeat the show, but keep your eye out for it! It was a great look at this often overlooked part of NYC.

Today, x901/226 introduced me to the latest in EMS fashion. First came the standard yellowish latex glove. Then we started seeing nitrile gloves in blue and purple. Now, Delta Gloves has come out with a black nitrex glove. Not only was this glove produced with the tatoo market in mind, but it also probaly looks really good with an EMS uniform. But I hope the black doesn't represent something or someone (ghouly) else for our elderly patients...... I've taken this oppurtunity to model the glove for you all:

My random photos from tonight's Yorktown Parade are now posted on EMTbravo.com Couldn't have asked for better parade weather, it was beautiful and the temp was perfect. My ears are still recovering from the first portion of the parade. That's probaly the loudest thing I've ever heard. Grrr. And what ever happneed to the Lil Rascals??

I'm curious as to your thoughts on fire service publications. I like to read the magazines that give me the best concise information, with the least ads.I try to read every magazine and newspaper I can get my hands on, from anywhere. When I read, I like to hear about new techniques and equipment, and other departments operations. I subscribe to most of the major ones. My favorite is Fire Engineering. I feel they have the best and most informative quality articles, and great photos. Firehouse has slipped from what they used to be to me, and doesn't really catch my interest as much. Fire-Rescue has some interesting features, but sometimes, like Firehouse, has too much advertising for my tastes. I feel that, especially since it's a subscription-only magazine, and you're paying around $30 a year for it, that the amount of ads is uneccesary and distracting. I have noticed some really unique articles in "National Fire And Rescue" (the glossy tabloid sized one). From a buff perspective, Fire Apparatus Journal is my favorite.

Is your department planning on particpating in this years Stand Down? Do they have any special events or training planned? For the official website, with a ton more information and activity ideas: http://www.iafc.org/displaycommon.cfm?an=1&subarticlenbr=306

Looks like FirefighterCloseCalls.com has developed an EMS version. Really cool start, and definetly needed for the EMS community! If it becomes anything like FirefighterCloseCalls.com, it will be a valuable educational tool. www.EMSCloseCalls.com

I found this during a recent visit to the FDNY website. Seems like a neat vehicle with a cool purpose, anyone have any more photos of it? http://www.nyc.gov/html/fdny/html/events/2006/052506a.shtml

I've got to give RIEMT/KevinEMT a ton of credit. They drew those Pleasantville engines, as featured on EMTBravo.com, completly by hand using MSPaint (the free basic paint program that comes bundled with Windows). KevinEMT drew the base Ferrara chasis and wheels, and ALL the detail and bodywork was drawn by RIEMT. It's really impressive some of their creations and work drawing fire apparatus using MSPaint. The drawings almost mirror the real thing! If anyone on here draws fire apparatus line art, feel free to share!

Anybody looking to visit or buff the DC area (which includes Montogmery, Fairifax, and Prince Georges county)? This is going to be super convient, and if you take advantage of the introductory fare, cheap. And, the route will be served with their awesome Embraer E190 jet, which inlcudes Dunkin Donuts coffee, live 36 channel Direct TV and 100 channel XM Satellite Radio at every seat, and soon...WIRELESS INTERNET!
-
Hmmm. I wonder if they have one for internet addicts like myself?

From what I gather, they will be somewhat similar to Newburgh's twin Gowans-Knight engines, which are real nice. Can't wait to see the delivery shots from our members in Poughkeepsie when they come in. Here's the in-progress photos (just started the work): http://www.gowansknight.com/Poughkeepsiepage.htm And here's Newburgh's Twin GK Engines: http://www.gowansknight.com/NewburghWIP.htm

You can see a couple of photos of Arlington Rescue 2, as well as some other Arlington apparatus by Turborich, on this recent EMTBravo.com feature: http://www.emtbravo.lunarpages.com/SpecFea...mArlington.html Due to the single axle, I don't believe it's the same one that's getting released by Code 3.
-
Thoughts and prayers are with the GFD brothers and FF Giampapa's family and friends on yet another untimely loss to hit this world. RIP.
-
Just a heads up to those who collect. Code 3's June release, exclusive to club members, is an FDNY Mack MC Rescue 2. It's already 50% sold out through Code 3. Westchester Collectibles may also have availability, I believe. http://www.code3.net/club/club_monthly.asp (Photo From www.code3.net)

Although no official announcment has been made by B6, I'm almost certain that this win will mean you will be able to wirelessly access the internet using your laptop or PDA on jetBlue flights......and/or possibly use your cell phone. Dunkin' Donuts coffee, free 36 channels of live TV, and 100 channels of XM Satellite radio at each and every leather seat is among the many free amenities offered by jetBlue. Now if only these fuel prices we are being uneccesarily robbed with would go back down, so jetBlue's fares would be reasonable and a bargain again!
