Thanks. I shoot video with my Canon SD600 or S500. I edit using Windows Movie Maker, but am shopping around for more advanced software.

No, they are not rebuilt DPW chasis. All the cabs/chasis for Engines and trucks were purchased new from the manufacturer for use as fire apparauts. Let's let one of the many White Plains members on this forum give us the factual information, instead of speculating.

That's great for Pelham Manor. Looks like a nice Mack CF that will fit well. Although, I never could understand how the Village Board can't provide funding for a brand new Engine. Isn't Pelham Manor a wealthy community?

So, I finally got a Blackberry. It's the 7100i model, and my carrier is Nextel (I'll save the horror story about trying to upgrade my phone from the i730 for another post) I didn't get this phone to be tied to the internet even more then I am. I got it to be more organzied. I was sick of schlepping my PDA around, which I use for my schedule and tasks, so I decided this phone would be the perfect solution to merge two devices into one. I also like the fact that it has TeleNav GPS, and hope that will help me out on my photo hunts, especially when I'm in LA. Hopefully, this will help me become more organzied, and lead to less stress. So far, I really like it. It's no where as evil as I thought it was. [attachmentid=1516]

And here are some photos as well: [attachmentid=1514] The motor has LED lights lighting up the connection area. This is equipped with Holmatro CORE technology, and only one hose per tool, this lightweight Honda/Holmatro motor has connections for two tools to run at full operation at once. [attachmentid=1515] You can see where the LED lights are built into the handle. These little bulbs are BRIGHT!

And here's the video containing some of the Holmatro features that I spoke of.

In my first-EVER publicly released video, here is "X635's Sights And Sounds 11-17-06" Song is "Believe" from "From Zero" All photos and video taken 11-17-06 or the previous week by x635. Includes photos from some cool Holmatro Rescue Equipment innovations, as mentioned in my other thread. As I mentioned, it's only my first video and mostly contains shots taken during the course of the day 11-17-06 (with the exception of the Rockefeller Christmas tree, just wanted to get that one in there).

Yesterday evening, the engine company to which I am assigned had our local Holmatro dealer, Garrison Fire Equipment, visit to conduct preventative maintenance on our Holomatro Series 2000 tools. The serviceman, who is also a career firefighter from the City Of Newburgh, was awesome. He took the time to not only explain and give us some tips and tricks on our current tools, but also to show us the latest in innovations from Holmatro. The first thing that impressed me was the "Core Technology". Only ONE lightweight hydraulic hose plugs into the motor and into the tool, and no valves to turn on or off. Second, was the lights built into the handles of the tools. The bright LED really illuminate the areas you are cutting or spreading. Another thing that impressed me was the speed. The tools opened, and closed, extremely fast, thanks to a new actuator valvle. And the motor was compact, lightweight, and could handle two tools in full operation. It was amazingly quiet as well. Most importantly to me, the tools were very ergonomic, handles were in comfortable positions, tools were lightweight, and controls were in a easy to access and use position. I was very impressed by the latest technology in extrication equipment by Holmatro. Photos in a video will be up soon.

Congrats To EMTBravo Network Deputy Admin and IA Guru Truck 4 for FINALLY taking the plunge and getting engaged! As a recently engaged male, I can attest to the fact that commiting to the one you love is one of the best moves you will ever make. Enjoy the wedding planning experience, it can be a great time and it's what you make of it- you're planning a celebration of your relationship for all your family and friends. It can be sickening at times, but it will all fall together nicely. Again, Congrats Truck4! (Maybe he can fill us in on the details, when I called him tonight he was at a catering hall already doing a "tasting". LOL)

This takes mass transit advertising to a new level. I wonder if Metro North or Bee Line would ever go this far? http://www.x635photos.com/displayimage.php?album=23&pos=5 It's hard to tell from this photo, but the inside of this subway car- every single surface (actually the entire consist) was wrapped in a reflective vinyl advertisment for MSG's "50 Greatest Sports Moments" TV special. Even the seats had been covered by th ad vinyl, and they replaced all the warning stickers as well. Wonder how much this alll cost? I've never seen anything like this before.

Wow, I didn't even notice it was gone. Oh well, it was always a skelly dealership anyways. Sizzler also moved out of the neighborhood I noticed, what's going on lol? Maybe this would make a good place for a new Fairview FD Headqarters. I am a fan of Croton Dodge, they have the BEST customer service of ANY auto dealer I've ever been to. I have bought two Dakota's from them, and they have always been great to me even after the sale. Here's a photo of the vacant White Plains Dodge, taken today by me. [attachmentid=1505]

I am saddened to report that Shiela Knoesel passed away this morning after a short battle with Leukemia. Shiela was an intergral member of the Ardsley community. She is the wife of Ted Knoesel, 50+ year member of Ardsley FD and ex-chief. Also the mother to EMTBravo Member and Westchester County Police Officer TJ Knoesel, and Greenburgh Police Officer Kiera Knoesel. She also leaves behind numerous other children and grandchildren, as well as many, many friends. Shiela was a good friend of my family, from my grandmother on down. She was one of the nicest people I have ever met, and have known her forever. I will miss her along with many. My thoughts and prayers are with TJ, Ted and the entire Knoesel family during this sudden and tragic time. Rest in peace, Shiela. Arrangements are as follows: WAKE: Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, Ashford Ave Dobbs Ferry NY Wednesday 11/15 7-9PM Thursday 11/16 2-4PM 7-9PM FUNERAL: Sacred Heart Church Friday, 11/17 Ashford Ave. & Broadway (Route 9) Dobbs Ferry NY 9:30 AM Interment To Follow A blood drive was scheduled to be held for Shiela this Friday. As far as I know, this blood drive is still being held. For more information, click here: http://emtbravo.net/index.php?showtopic=14302

[attachmentid=1504] While in Manhattan last night, I noticed this sticker on the door of NYSC (New York Sports Cliub) at 8th Ave and 29th street. I was curious, what does this mean exactly? I know a while ago, NYSC offered free training to those preparing for the FDNY agility, but does this sticker mean anything else? Are NYC FF's given free access? Why is it the "Official Health Club Of The FDNY"? This is the first time I'm seeing this.

Does White Plains FD still have its light truck, and if so, what is it's current designation and location? Anyone have current photos?

Thanks to Truck4, photos of Yonkers PD's new Dodge Charger have been posted, http://www.emtbravo.com I've got to say, this is one of the hottest Dodge Chargers yet. I love the new YPD striping design, very refreshing.

Well, I am the type of person who believes the Christmas season doesn't begin until after Thanksgiving. I get annoyed by seeing holiday commercials now, decorations up, and merchandise in the stores. It's too early for the Christmas season....it's only.......oh wow, it's the second week of November already! Yikes! Where does time go? Anyways, I'm sitting at Hartsdale FD Station 1 last night, about 2300, preparing to settle in for the evening. All of a sudden, I see lights flashing and a State Trooper speed south down Central Ave. I look north on Central Ave, and I see what looks like a parade. The next thing you know, the ROCKEFELLER CENTER CHRISTMAS TREE is coming down Central Ave, with quite an entourage. It was exciting to see this famous tradition making its way through the neighborhood where I work and live. It was about 20 feet tall on the trailer. From what I understand, it's been planned to be the 2006 Christmas tree for 9 years now, and hails from Ridgefield,CT. Now, I am starting to get excited for the holidays, and can't wait to see this tree sitting in Rockefeller Center all dressed and lit up!! [attachmentid=1491] [attachmentid=1492]
