  1. Just wanted to share this photo I got of New Rochelle Engine 21 yesterday: [attachmentid=1871]
  2. Date:1-13-06 Time: 1300hrs Location: Route 9A @ Route I-287 BP Gas Station Frequency: Units Operating: Elmsford E237, L55, 2111, 2113, Westchester County Hazmat, Westchester County Health Department, NYS DEC, Elmsford PD, Greenburgh PD Description Of Incident: Unknown amount of gasoline leaked while employee was changing pump filter. Gasoline observed flowing from pump upon arrival of first PD unit. Gasoline flowed into a nearby storm drain until pumps were shut off by FD. Writer: x635
  3. Here's a photo of the station, prior to renovation, on LFD171's website: http://public.fotki.com/lfd171/westchester...rye/rye_hq.html And one on tbendicks site: http://nycfire.net/gallery/rye/IMG_3531 I also thought they were going to run a ladder out of HQ's and the Point, so that they had a truck out of each house?
  4. The Pierce Arrow Ladder 13 is now serving as a spare ladder for Burtonsville FD in Montgomery County, MD: http://www.burtonsvillevfd.com/apparatus/RT15.jpg That's interesting, I never knew it served Ansonia as well! I believe Peekskill L-45 was similar to the old L-13. BTW, what did E-21 run before the current rig pictured?
  5. jetBlue was present at the lottery last time, but did not participate. We should know this week if jetBlue will start service from HPN, via an announcment from jetBlue.
  6. Here is a better photo of White Plains Engine 210 http://x635photos.com/displayimage.php?pos=-785
  7. As a bonus, here's New Rochelle Ladder 13. I believe this ladder was originally built for the City Of Newburgh, but they couldn't pay for it at the time, so New Rochelle bought it because they needed a ladder ASAP. I'm sure one of the NRFD guys could elaborate or corect me if I'm wrong. [attachmentid=1872]
  8. [attachmentid=1856] x635's B&D Cell Phone holster for Nextel i580 (Photo By x635) As many of you know, I recently purchased a Nextel-Motorola i580 flip phone. Like when I needed a holster for my Blackberry, I went to B&D Holsters, a small holster company located in Spring Valley, NY. 845-426-7570 I have been using their product for many years, ever since I had a cell phone. I have found the cases to be simple and extremly durable, and do a great job protecting the phone. The cell phone goes into the pouch, is secured in by a velcro strap, and clips easily and securely to your belt or anything else you want to clip it to. The holster comes with a satisfaction guarentee, as well as a lifetime warranty. The polypropelene webbing with a certifed gun belt clip is unaffected by water, oil, mildew and pretty much anything else. Most of their cases retail for $15. They make this product in a variety of sizes for cell phones, PDAs, camera, etc. I highly reccomend it to anyone looking for a great belt clip cell phone case.
  9. They don't have a web address. I used to see them in a multitude of hardware stores throughout the Hudson Valley, don't know of any that carry them offhand. Direct ordering is through phone only, so if you can't find one at a retailer you can call them and they'll ship it immediately.
  10. With a special thanks to a source, I am able to share the following information. Final inspection was completed last weekend, truck is currently having the graphics finished up, delivery to the dealer within the coming weeks, followed shortly thereafter by final delivery.
  11. I'm really upset and dissapointed. I missed it this morning. I wasn't feeling well at all this morning, and with a busy couple of weeks ahead, I decided to take today to rest. Sounds like it was a great time. I hope to be able to see Chief Goldfeder in person soon. Thanks Monty for the synopsis.
  12. Looks great!
  13. [attachmentid=1689] Today, I came across this street marking indicating this hydrants location. All hydrants in this municipality were marked this way. Now this isn't the first time I've seen this. This particular shot was in Ridgefield Park, NJ. I've just never seen this around here. Although the above hydrant's location seems quite obvious, there are times when we don't know the hydrants location....such as when it's hiding behind bushes, down a embankment, behind a car, etc etc......now, of course we should know alll the hydrants in our first due, and in our map books, but there are times when something simple like this would make our lives a lot easier...such as when coming in mutual aid, when the hydrants buried in snow, etc. I think it's a good idea. But the NIMBY's would probaly feel it's an eyesore.
  14. Here's another cool option for marking hydrants (that goes along with the previous topic, found this one in the Village Of Mamaroneck: [attachmentid=1870]
  15. jjpinto submitted his shots from his FDNY shoot yesterday. http://www.emtbravo.com Amongst these shots is a great shot of the new FDNY Rescue 1, a 2006 Pierce Arrow XT. Special thanks to Joe for hooking us up!

  18. Detective Vito Carelli of the Village of Mamaroneck PD. His family will be holding a 10-13 Fund Raising Benefit in his name January 14th at the Thirsty Turtle in White Plains. Vito was a 22 year veteran of the Village of Mamaroneck PD who succumbed to his three year fight with leukemia in October. Vito leaves behind his wife and four sons, of which two followed in Vito’s footsteps. One is with the White Plains PD and the other with the Village of Mamaroneck PD. Also, his brother is a police officer with the Village. This is a tremendous loss not only for the family, but for the Law Enforcement Community and The Village of Mamaroneck. PLEASE help us show his family and friends support. He helped many of us now lets help someone else in his name. http://www.emtbravo.com/DetectiveVitoCarelli.html
  19. Anyone who can attend to show support for our Law Enforcement brothers.....
  20. Now the Allentown piece is AWESOME! I love the truck itself, and can't wait to add it to my diecast collection.
  21. Bump for tommorow.
  22. I'd also like to know...I would like to take the class, but don't want to travel to Montour for a week for it.
  23. I got to shoot Rye's new Engine 192 (and friends) today. The photos are posted on http://www.emtbravo.com Special thanks to those involved in helping me out with getting these photos! Unfortunetly, it was cloudy today, but the only chance I have to shoot it in the next few weeks, so I made due and hope the photos came out OK. Here's a preview shot. [attachmentid=1866]
  24. Beat you to it Chris. Must be a neat house, I always wondered if it was a firehouse. I'm sure one of the New Rochelle guys could give us the scoop. [attachmentid=1865] (Photo Taken 1-12-06 by x635, http://www.x635Photos.com )
  25. Here is the bus they are using for 30-A-3: [attachmentid=1863] (Photo By x635, http://www.x635Photos.com ) Looks like it formerly was a Transcare unit. Wonder if they will purchase another Medix Type III for 30-A-3 eventually? Also, anyone know if they will be getting a "home". Sucks they have to sit in the bus all day....hopefully, they could at least put a trailer or something at Ward Acres or one of the other properties the city owns up that way.
