  1. Looking good! Definetly a unique Seagrave chasis (kinda like Put Valley)! Also, tank shape is cool and unique. Thanks for sharing the photos! Does this replace the Ward Lafrance, and if so, what will be done with that?
  2. Who and where did their fleet stuff then? Also thought it housed their dispatch center?
  3. I've been past the FDNY shops a couple of times (always hoping to find something neat parked outside, but never have), and it looks old and run down. I've seen one photo of the inside of the ladder shop (does anyone know of more photos?). I'd love to see the inside of this facilty one day, it would be a dream if FDNY held an open house one of these days...I know it would be a well attended function. Anyways, my main question. Are the FDNY shops outdated? If so, is there even any consideration to building a new faciilty? Also, besides Randalls Island, does FDNY even have a yard where they keep "dead" and other vehicles?
  4. The Fire Helmet Camera Company is one of EMTBravo's newest sponsors. I never knew of this type of device being marketed to the fire service, but I must say, it's AWESOME! Could be a GREAT learning tool! Check it out-what do you think? http://www.firehelmetcam.net/
  5. Apparently, and I'm just learning of this, Mack has replaced the MR series with the new "Terrapro" series. There are two models, one thankfully resembles the MR, and one is a low entry version designed specifically for refuse collection. 6. I found this @ FDNYTrucks.com BOT units section. http://www.fdnytrucks.com/images/specialun...DNYBofTPSS1.jpg What is the purpose of this modified engine?
  7. Oh....that's what it is. Now I remember posting something about this when it was rolled out...pretty neat how it works.
  8. Just a heads up for those who don't yet have it, Best Buy has on sale all three EMERGENCY DVD's (Complete Seasons 1,2,3) on sale for 19.99 each...think the sale ends tommorow.
  9. Nice! Thanks for sharing that Chris! I love Lifeline ambulances, built like tanks and very function-oriented layout.
  10. Sterling Truck Company, who's parent company is Daimler-Chrysler, which is also owns Dodge ad Freightliner, has announced the rollout of the 2008 Sterling Bullet. This truck is based on the Dodge Ram 4500/5500 Pickup. It's aimed at commercial, muncipal, and other heavy duty markets. It's scheduled to be released this fall. [attachmentid=2836] I can't wait to see ambulances based on this chasis, I think it looks great!
  11. Just a reminder that CHiPs-The Complete First Season is being released on DVD on June 5th, 2007. I've already got it preordered on Amazon.com. CHiPs one of my FAVORITE TV shows when I was a kid, and even when they used to replay them on TNT at 7AM and 8AM then moved to overnights a couple of years ago. I had hoped that TV Land would have picked up on this, but they didn't When I casually browsed through Amazon.com today, I came across the AWESOME suprise! I can't wait until I can start watching CHiPs again....I've been hoping that it would be one of the many TV shows being released on DVD. http://www.amazon.com/CHiPs-Complete-Seaso...74321247&sr=8-1
  12. Just out of curiosity, where does NYSP do fleet maintainence for Troop K, F, and T?
  13. Does anyone know the body make of this Ford E-450 ambulance? St. Lukes-Roosevelt #1760, I really like the new? color scheme and the ambulance. Also, where do the St Luke's ambulances turn out of? Do they have their own garage? Also, how many buses do they run? [attachmentid=2822]
  14. In July's issue of Motor Trend Magazine, out now page 56, there's an article about Ford's new concept "Interceptor", a rear wheel drive "muscle car" package with a big V-8 engine. Reportedly, from other sources, it would be the replacement in 2008 for the current Ford Crown Victoria, and Ford Police Interceptor. Here's what the concept looks like, although I'm sure the actual version will be toned down a little. I wonder what the "Police Package" will include on this one...I've heard that there will be a signifcant difference between the civilian and police versions. I would think the Crown Vic would stay around for taxi fleets. [attachmentid=2834] (Photo: Ford.com) Looks like RWD cars are making a comeback!
  15. It's stationed at Floyd Bennet Field, according to the authority on NYC apparatus. Boy, would I like to get in there some day and see all the trucks they have there! Seems like quite an aresenal is housed there.
  16. Peter Kelly beat Iron Chef Bobby Flay, but it was close. The "secret ingredient" was cowboy ribeye.
  17. No problem. I forgot to add they attended last year's Mamaroneck Parade. Here's the photo: http://x635photos.com/displayimage.php?pos=-785
  18. There's plenty of Yonkers FF's on this forum, I'm sure one of them can give us a definitive answer on this.
  19. This topic was covered a couple of years ago on this forum. Through a search, I found these answers:
  20. I really wonder what drives these people? In my eyes, they are the terrorists of the computer world. Hopefully, he sits in jail for a long, long time.

  22. According to a article in today's Journal News, White Plains Station 2 (which houses Engine 66 and TL-6, the Parking Garage Unit, and some special operations vehicles, as well as White Plains/Transcare EMS and some City traffic shop facilty, may be razed and relocated to accomadate a huge Capelli office/residential/retail project adjacent to the White Plains Train Station. I wonder where they would move White Plains FD Station 2 to? It's a pretty big facilty, and I can't envision another appropriate spot in the vicinity....all of them are being developed or are going to be developed. Unless they put it out on Central Ave or Route 119.
  23. Interesting. I think AndyC3J is involved in the muster....
