I think JBE and Piranaha174 hit the nail on the head as to why it's posted here. Thanks guys. As far as EXDC203, if you have an issue with what I post on here, you can PM me or email me at seth@emtbravo.com No need to "hijack" threads with irrelevant comments.

Someone asked me to post the Los Angeles County USAR unit for comparison....so here are two of my shots. It's actually a very different rig. (LACoFD's was designed to be a staffed, 24/7 Rescue Company, whereas Yonkers it is a Special Operations Unit)

They are extremly busy.....they perform recovery services throughout the Hudson Valley.....they've recovered cars, trucks, boats, even planes. They also provide training and assistance to local FD's and a wide variety of other service, including HELP Trucks, Heavy Airbags, Roadside Assistance, Flatbed services, Heavy Equipment Hauling, Lowboy/Landoll trailers, emergency vehicle outfitting, automotive and truck repair and bodyshop, etc etc.........there will be a bunch of action shots posted on Stiloskis.com soon.

For the time being, we do have a "Lo-Fi" version of the site which makes it somewhat easier to read on PDA's and SmartPhones. http://www.emtbravo.net/lofiversion/index.php

I vaguely remember reading about this establishment in the NY Daily News a while ago, at the time it was only one resturant in Florida, I believe and battaling NYPD over the name. My suprise when I was going downtown to check out the new Metro Rail station in Austin that I noticed this, kind of tucked away behind the convention center and large hotel. I'm not sure if it was in business or closed, or opening soon. Tints too dark to see through. I know some Police Officer's have family who make awesome pies, but I can't see the connection between people who have never even been to NYC and pizza?

Some larger cities have "Battallon Aides", to drive the Shift Commander around. A lot of Battalion aides are FF's on light duty or with a lot of seniority. I feel that in today's day and age, a "Battallion Aid" should be a standard role in the career department. Although we struggle to staff hoselines, I believe the Battalion Aid gets the Chief to the fire quickly and safely, and assists with IC duties on the fireground. This allows the Shift Commander to review pre-plans, consider mutual aid resources, hazards, apparatus placement, firefighter safety, and all the other things that need consideration enroute. With MDT's becoming used more and more for CIDS and other uses, the SC needs to be focusing on that to get a "head start", and not on driving or navigating. ,

I already had that taken care of. LOL. (Disclaimer: Poorly Photoshopped photo.)

I'm pretty sure TL-15 was an "inbetween", at least that was often cited as the cause of many of the issues. -break from above post- I wanted to clear up something........we shouldn't let Mount Vernon's Aerialscope or some bad apples produced during some bad, pre-Seagrave years dog the current brand.....read at the following link for further: http://www.emtbravo.net/index.php?showtopic=29282

Mount Vernon FD has ONE awesome mechanic. And I mean one literally-there's only one mechanic and NO other shop staff. He has to handle all this workload on his own, with no real budget or resources to assist him. He spends the majority of his time taking care of the constant breakdowns to keep the fleet in service, and barely has any time for PM. He also has no help, and very cramped and outdated facilities. He has to fight tooth and nail to get the city to pay for even the most minor part. I think he does a heck of a job for the situation he's in. Hartsdale TL-15 has that same problem...great truck, great capabilties- however it was a maintainence nightmare while I was there, in the shop more then it was in service, had a variety of "bugs", and it also is a 1994, which is also post-Baker, Pre-Seagrave. I think that truck has had so much money dumped into it by now they could've bought a new one, lol!

Barry, First, thanks for answering all of our questions. This will probaly be one of the most anticipated new deliveries of 2009, and has obviously generated a lot of interest. I know a LOT of time and though went into planning this rig, and I think the end result will be very impressive.....much like Ladder 12, this will be the "next generation" Engine for New Rochelle. Which brings me to my question........the question regarding Chevron's on the rear has already been answered, but will it have Chevrons on the FRONT bumper, which is becoming increasingly common with the major FD's around here? Thanks again for all of your insight....can't wait to see more photos! Seth

Just a clarification/correction on some of my info: TL-3 can be seen here: http://www.fdnytrucks.com/files/html/other...ham%20Manor.htm TL-3 won't be going to Seagrave until January, when Seagrave is ready to start on it. Yonkers TL is not in service yet, and is pending an aerial test. However, as stated before, boom still works great, it is 20 years old and has seen active working fire service in Yonkers up until a few months ago.

Which is a good thing. Here in Texas, the DOT and highway contractors use amber and blue lights, because blue has proven to be extremly effective in multiple types of weather/light conditions. Kudos to BHFD for yet another progressive safety measure.

A friend just sent me a clip of Mount Vernon FD audio. It seem like the "Car 2" designation is gone, and they are now using "Batallion". However, I heard a Batallion 1 and Battalion 2, I know Mount Vernon doesn't have 2 batallions so can anyone shed some light on this?

Just speaking with a friend of mine who's a Pierce sales rep down here, and he had information that Mamaroneck Village is looking to replace Ladder 21 ASAP, as it is permanetly out of service. Some demos & stock units from various manufacturers have been looked at. Anyone with further information?

I think a lot of our members can make a quick post and show appreciation to the staff of the forum. It is here because of their hard work. If you're reading this, hit "Add Reply" and say thanks.....it's a simple word that goes a long way.

Thanks for the info, but I wanted to discuss this with an open forum and let other members who may be "in the know" contribute. If we all used the PM system, then there would be no point to this forum.

Thanks to an awesome membership out there, I have been informed by several of our "in the know" members out there what's going on: TL-3 went back to Seagrave to be completely refurbed. Brand new Seagrave chassis and body with same 75' boom, completely refurbed. The kicker is…..They figured out how to keep it on a single axle. It will be the first re-mount in the country on a single axle. In the meantime, Yonkers has lloaned PMFD their old Mack Aerialscope, the former TL-75 - 1991 this truck had a new body put on it in the late 90's. The body is so-so but the boom works great. Not 100% if PMFD will actually use the truck yet, but once it returns to Yonkers, it will be disposed of, given it's over 20 years old. Special thanks go out to those who provided the info to me!!! You guys rock!
