  1. Let me clear things up. You can only read what Google "caches". This is a public forum, where anyone can register for an account, read topics, etc. NO PERSONAL INFORMATION OTHER THEN WHAT YOU POST is divulged by a Google search. In fact, that's how a lot of people find us.
  2. If you work in a busy EMS system with FD first reponse, chances are that you've beaten FD to the call and transmitted "You can cancel fire". I'm wondering if any departments track these statistics for use in Priority Dispatching QA/QI??
  3. Quite an interesting story! FULL STORY: http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/B/BOY...EMPLATE=DEFAULT
  4. I'd also like to know who manufactured the body...I know TCD did everything else, but they must have subcontracted for the body, as I don't see them having the facilities to construct one. I love the way it looks! However, it's different from every Elmsford FD Vehicle in every way......will the new Chiefs vehicles and ambulances from this point foward carry this design?

  6. It was mentioned in another thread that Mount Kisco was getting a new ambulance, so I went over to the PL Custom site to take a look. And, boy, was I suprised when I saw it was on a Chevy C4500 chasis....it looks AWESOME and is a great choice for a chasis. http://www.plcustom.com/recentdeliveries/g...0&template= I hope someone will post photos in our photo section when they can, and I hope next time I come north, I can get a few myself.
  7. I heard a rumor Yorktown sold Engine 275, does anyone have the details to who they sold it to and why?

  9. BUT, Police officers need direct supervision, so wouldn't these be "essential" positions?
  10. Thanks for posting the photos, Chris! It's good to see you back! I think the car looks SHARP!! RPS has always been the first to do a lot of things, so something like this doesn't suprise me. Who does the outfitting for RPS? AGREED! You're working an accident scene overnight on an interstate and you have tractor trailers blowing by you at 70+ MPH. As with any safety feature, it's only as good as the user.
  11. My new hometown, the City of Round Rock, TX (just north of Austin), has taken delivery of two new engines for Engine 1 and Engine 7. They are both 2008 Spartan MetroStar/Crimsons. I love the way they are spec'd. Not all the tools are mounted yet, but as you can see, there is plenty of room. Also, note the reflective striping inside the compartments for when the roll up doors are opened. I like how this engine is designed to be an engine, and isn't embelished in any way. I also like the really easy to use CAFS system, and the headsets. I've been learning lately that Crimson builds an AWESOME product!! 12. Crimson designs their apparatus to use as much space as possible. The other spare bottle compartments in the wheel wells hold 3 bottles each (6 total). Here's a shot of the wheelwell we are talking abot:

  19. Last I had heard, (2004), the new Ladder was slated for the Somers house due to Heritage Hills being in their district.
  20. Great photos, Jimmy! You got every shot I want to get next time I'm down there- very jealous! Thanks for sharing! I love those Quints!
  21. The local Crimson dealer here in Texas adds a neat feature to their deliveries. They add highly reflective striping on the crash rails, and inside the compartments on the back wall. That way, when the doors are rolled up, you still have reflective striping. Sorry for the cruddy shot, I will be shooting these engines when all the equipment is mounted. Also, I will be doing a night shot featuring the relfective striping and will post it here for further review. Simple, does anyone else have or do this?
  22. OK, here's a better shot of what I was talking about. You can see the refelective striping against the back wall of the compartment. This takes the place of the reflective striping on the roll up doors when they are open. I should note, this doesn't come from Crimson, the local dealer, Metro Fire Apparatus Specialists, includes it as one of their "standard features" installed at their facility, along with the chrome panels, etc. MORE PHOTOS OF THIS ENGINE: http://www.emtbravo.com/NewDeliveries/roundrockengines.html
