Having helped Judy Mayer in my teenage years with EMT classes at Irvington VAC, I got to know Betty. She was truly a wonderful person. Irvington VAC is what it is today because of her, and she's produced many fine EMT's and several who have gone on to Paramedics. It's a real loss to the Irvington community, she was truly "old school" Irvington that had the working class, helpful mentality. Condolences also go out to her daughter, Ellen Lewitt, who was/is a Greenburgh PD Officer.

Check out the photos in this thread on another forum: http://tow411.yuku.com/topic/76146/t/Tower-pictured-assisting-in-rescue-of-FDNY-driver.html And scroll down to see the photos... Speedy recovery to all those involved in this serious collision, and hats off to Mike's Towing of Brooklyn and their Century 1075S rotator!

It won't for long-as I have time I will be customizing the master template to be more in line with the EMTBravo color scheme and to be more unique. I am also working to add more skin choices for members. Thanks. Same basic software platform, however EMTBravo is more customized and has a lot more added features that our members expect. I handle most of the bugs in house too, however due to time constraints I had to contract out for someone to write some custom code.

What do you think this will mean for Westchester County's Emergency services??
-
Acknowledging all problems and concerns addressed above, I am looking into them and hope to provide a fix or answer as soon as I can. Please be advised EMTBravo.net is a VERY customized forum on many different levels, and it will take several weeks to re-install those custimizations into the new software. This site should load much easier on a mobile device. However, a mobile app is in the works.

BTW, thanks guys for all the positive feedback, much appreciated and glad to see members enjoying it....please let me know of any bugs, issues, or differences on this thread so I can keep track. There is still a lot of work underway, and I hope to roll out more new features as time allows.

I am still working on fine tuning the color scheme, and adding some more skins for those who like different skins. When you say "Quote Box", do you mean replying to a post? If so, if you hit the "Reply" button in the post it will automatically quoate, instead of just "Add Reply" at the top of the screen.

Is this in regards to the "Recent Posts" list on the top of main screen? This may have to do with your personal settings on how you wish to view the topics, but I'll double check. Anyone else having this issue?

They look AWESOME! Are they Lifelines? Also, is Harrison EMS ever going to plan an expansion of their facilities so they can fit all their ambulances inside?
-
This issue should now be resolved. Please advise if it is.

As you can see, the upgrade is in progress. Please post here your thoughts, questions, concerns, and especially any bug reports. This upgrade will take several more weeks of work to complete, but will always be a work in progress like the last version of our forum. Thanks! -Seth

Happy birthday to one of our most favorite fire apparatus photographers, Joe Pinto!!

My wife gave me a trip to Chicago for my 30th birthday in August. We just got back yesterday. Chicago is an awesome, beautiful city! It's my new (photographically) L.A. We had many great experiences, getting to hang out and see friends at O'Hare Towing (featured in the TV series "Wrecked: Life in The Crash Lane"), eating Chicago style deep dish pizza from Gino's East which was not NY pizza but still absolutely awesome, having a room on the 33rd floor of the Swissotel, with views of Lake Michigan, the river, and downtown, going to see a great comedy performance at Second City, going to Gibson Steakhouse, going on an river boat architecture tour, and just seeing Chicago itself. Also bought a few books on the history of Chicago's fires that I've never seen before anywhere at B&N. They have had some insane tragedies and a very storied history in that department. I hope to visit the musuem next time, I'm really into learning more about Chicago FD now....I know they have some very cool innovations and reactions in both past and modern times. Since this was my first trip to Chicago, I didn't get a lot of photos, since I wanted to enjoy the city and only had a rental car for the first two days and it rained a lot....however, I will definetly be going on a photo trip there as soon as I can. Absolutely awesome city, and so many trucks that I want to photograph next time!! But I am glad to be back in Austin, it's always nice to be home. Anyways, here are some of the shots that I did get. This is Truck 903 from O'Hare Towing's Northlake Terminal, a 2006 Kenworth T-800/Century 1060S 60-Ton rotating boom, one of the stars of the show "Wrecked: Life In The Crash Lane" on Speed.

As promised, some more photos: O'Hare Towing Service Truck 902 1996 Mack/Century 1060S 60 Ton Rotator (For those that watch the show, that's Jamisen behind the wheel)

I may have missed this, but does Port Chester have a spare engine? I mean, there are some departments in Westchester that only have 2 engines and still have a spare.

This has actually happened in the recent past, in Westchester. In a few of the incidents, people were either seriously injured or killed. When I lived up there, I would not drive on any roadway where I needed to go underneath a bridge on Halloween after some events I witnessed.

That's a really good point and a really good way to look at it! To add to that, I would think the average White Plains Firefighters can't afford to live in or near White Plains comfortably, and with gas prices, that should be taken into account......a lot of people commute to White Plains, but a firefighter commute (nights, weekends, holidays, snowstorms, usually no logical way to use public transit) is totally different.

The other topic reminded me of something. I had heard that Pelham FD's Rescue 45 has been redesignated a utility. (the Ford Expedition). Is there a new Rescue 45 in the works, or has been delivered? Does it still respond on EMS calls? Also, does the village still have the 38-M-1 flycar provided by Empress, or have they gotten funding for an ambulance back?
