One of my good internet friends Ben Saladino runs an awesome website for the Dallas-Fort Worth area fire apparatus news and events. http://www.bensware.com/firetrucks/dfwfireapnews.php It has been one of my favorite websites for years. He just got back from FRI 2013 in Chicago, and got some really awesome photos He's posted them to his site, and he got some really good shots from the show and trip. I'm very jealous! The full set of FRI 2013 Chicago Photos from Ben Saladino: http://www.bensware.com/firetrucks/FRI2013/ One of the many, many awesome photos from the show and his trip: and the NBC Drama "Chicago Fire" was filming for it's second season while FRI was in town: Again, check out all the awesome photos from his trip at: http://www.bensware.com/firetrucks/FRI2013/

Duracell definitely seems to be a supporter of the fire service, and this is just the latest of many of their supporting first responder initiatives. Even though it's marketing for them, they still do it the right way IMHO. Full press release: http://news.duracell.com/press-release/quantum/duracell-introduces-quantum-worlds-most-advanced-alkaline-battery-one-million- Another one of their initiatives, donating batteries to FD's in need around the country "Power Those Who Protect Us": http://news.duracell.com/news_releases/power_those_who_protect_us Duracell is based in Bethel, CT right outside of Danbury.

Yonkers can find the money to do what they want. They've done really awesome things to enhance the city in recent years, one of my favorites is the "day lighting" of the Saw Mill River in Larkin Plaza, which turned out beautiful. They can find the space and money to preserve the heritage and heroic history of Yonkers firefighters, and all they've accomplished for the city, and the nation. Station 8 would be a great place for a museum, as you have the Hudson River Museum nearby. Actually, a display in the Hudson River Museum would be awesome, as Yonkers was a powerhouse in the Hudson Valley. I'd also like to see a place that highlights the heroics of firefighters such as Patrick Joyce and all the other Yonkers FF's who have died in the line of duty serving Yonkers. Engine 306 holds a lot of stories and history of heroics in one of the most firematically active areas of Yonkers, and would be a nice showpiece attraction. I even think Yonkers has the capability to pull off something like the FDNY Fire Zone and be a fire safety education center as well. Whatever is done IF something is done, I'm, willing to bet it will be a huge draw for the community, including fire buffs, Hudson Valley history buffs, schoolchildren, etc, and a tremendous asset to the community. History is a powerful tool to power the future, and shouldn't be left to rot.

I have a strong feeling you will be seeing a lot more Dodge Chargers and Chevrolet Tahoes in NYSP's future. They are the majority favorite of the troopers I have spoken with so far.

Well, well, well, look who's back at the Eastchester FD shops (photo taken this afternoon). However, Ladder 15 is still in service and don't know when TL-17 will return to service.

Follow-up report from FF1, member on scene: Engine 37 first due engine, ran two lines. Possibly an electrical fire originating at the panel, main body of fire was located within the walls and ran up into the attic of the restaurant via openings for pipes and conduits. Quick knockdown, location of fire, spread, and live electrical wires while waiting for Con Ed to cut power made it stubborn to fully extinguish and open up to check for extension. VMFD released from standby when Larchmont picked up they took over standby.
