Tommorow is the 2nd Annual Battle of the Badges benefiting the wounded warrior fund. This event is this Saturday ( Tommorow) from noon till 5pm. There are plenty of events, games, and food for every member of the family to partake in. This game will be at Mamaroneck High school. The teams are Larchmont PD verse NYS PD at 1pm , and The Town of Mamaroneck PD verse Town of Mamaroneck Fire after that game. Once again all proceeds earned at this event will be going towards the Wounded Warriors fund. Come on out and have a great time for a great cause. Please see the flyer attached. Goo LPD!! Haha

Thank you very much for that info. How many Orange County VAC have Paid staff ( i.e. EMT's and/or Paramedics)
-
So someone want to give us some background on Newburgh EMS? Are they having issues, is this just a normal fundraising event?
-
So once again. How do you get paid staff in Ivac. To fix the problem
-
So here's the question? How do you get paid personal in there, or how do you dissolve IVAC into the other EMS/VAC's districts

I would love to see EMS Agenies who don't get out get automatic mutual aid. No more of this 3 tone outs. (4 if you count the initial dispatch) I think it's crazy that there are 20min respond times for an ambulance in this county. Some of which only respond with a driver only, with no EMT/first responder. What happens if that unit is flag down on the way to the job he was dispatched to?

I would like to clarify my post quoted. First thing is first. I apologize to the members of VMFD who were not mentioned specifically as I did not have that information available when I wrote my quote. Those members have since been named, and congratulations to them are in order. If it wasn't for the good search preformed by the E-38 crew (I believe that was the correct engine, if not a am sorry again) and the quick efforts of the members performing CPR quickly, and getting early advance care. This person would not be here. You all deserve a way to go for this job, victims of fire in these kind of cases survival rates are far and few between. Be proud. You all made a difference and that's what it is all about.

What ever happened to the EMD standard that was supposed to be implemented by the REMAC committee? I Thought all "ALS" agencies were supposed to have EMD capabilities by 2014

This has to be the first time in NYS where an EMS union has striked, won fair wages, and didnt loose any contracts (as of yet) I know there are alot of Pro EMS Union Members here on the boards, I'm just looking to see other members reactions. Congrats to the members of Teamsters Local 375 of rural/metro EMS for fighting for what they wanted. http://www.ems1.com/ems-management/articles/1468757-NY-officials-pledge-to-continue-EMS-service-if-strike-occurs/ "BUFFALO, N.Y. With a strike set to begin in a little over a week, executives at Rural/Metro Medical Services of Western New York are hoping to avoid a work stoppage but plan to continue coverage of emergency medical services.." http://m.bizjournals.com/buffalo/news/2013/07/16/rural-metro-strike-underway-in-buffalo.html "After beginning a strike at just after midnight, union workers have reached a tentative agreement with Rural/Metro Medical Services of WNY. In a media announcement released just after 9:20 a.m. this morning, Rural/Metro Division General Manager Jay Smith said the two sides reached a resolution after an all-night negotiating session."

Westchester County EMS lost a great, Mentor, Colleague, and Educator. I hope you and your family find peace. May you, and god watch over them, and may you continue to "guide" us as your pre-hospital care providers. You demanded nothing but perfection. It goes to show you, you wanted nothing but the best from us, and thru you, we made Westchester County a great place to work. Once again god bless you, and your family. May you forever Rest in Peace Dr. D.

What a black eye for the South Salem fire department, I would love to hear what they have to say about this guy. Isn't that considered fraud? He has that "official" ID naming south salem FD as a member. Unless they issue no longer active ID, isn't that considered illegal?

All I can say is wow... My he rest in peace still, and may you all still find comfort in knowing he is watching over you.
