pissing off dispatch happens, one way to fix it is to bring the D&D's at the end of the tour.. In 60-controls case.....

There are alot of old ex-Empress EMS employees on here. If you speak to any one of them, They will tell you the same thing I will. I have been there since 2006, in my 4 years here. I have learned more here at Empress, then any other place, I have been. Every company has it's ups. and downs. Empress is no exception, but if you want to work for the most professional, well respected company in Westchester County. Then come here. All I can say is bring your A- game, because you will get it all. Trauma's at lest once a shift, Medical calls, that will test your skills. Knowledgeable partners that have been around the block a few times, and are willing to teach you. If you come over.. All I can say is welcome to the family.

Here are some pictures on a recent brush fire Hawthorne had. Some backround of the incident. A primary wire broke, cause sparks, witch lit brush along 9-A. This incident was incressingly diffcult due to the fact, units had to wait to have power cut off to fully attack the fire. Unit's opperating. Date: 4/7/10 Time: 2145hrs Location: Midland AVE by Tibbits Park at the S Turns. Units: YFD: 306, L71, R1 B-1 YPD: ESU T-2 T-4 T-3 Numerous Sectors ESU Sgt, Patrol Sgt EMPRESS: Tac -4 305, Medic 35 Incident: PD req. to the area on reported intoxicated driver that just fled an accident on Yonkers Ave. 2nd PCT unit giving a verbal for a rollover with entrapment. 2150: Empress Tac-4 on scene, (1) vehicle Rollover, Advising (1) person traped inside. Sorry it took so long to answer.. I just noticed all your questions. Yes we are still using the UHF radio system. No the crews are no longer using alpha-numeric pagers, with the tablet system linked with central dispatch, all the infomation is a click away. And finally yes the nextels are used as the back up.

While I do think that field amputation are few and far between, it MAY HAVE BEENfeasible before life net a.k.a. stat-flight move air 1 from WMC to orange county, but now it would seem to be a waste of time.

I third that.. The only real regret, if you call it that, the fact I don't have News 12 anymore.. While they do suck. I do miss having real local news. I heard something along the lines they have a local news network in NJ/ and Long Island.. Maybe westchester can be next..

I think MVFD should be dispatched by 60-Contorl, This would free up whoever is dispatching to go on the truck/ engine.. That is assuming this is a firefighter postion and not civilan..

Wow, couldn't of say it better myself. I have to say you hit the nail on the head. Now me being a volunteer, and a professional makes me see things in a clear light. How do you provide excellent care to the people you serve, with out hurting the ego's of the volunteers? simple You can't. When is it exceptional to say, this is not the best for the patients. When I visit my family in PA. The state has a whole entire different way of dispatch. Each ambulance is a station, each fire house is a station, and depending on the incident, the dispatcher dispatches the station, and the department makes the call on what goes. And its amazingly smooth I personally thing, one county one EMS service. Think about it all civil service, enough money to get what is needed. No one is better then anyone else. In a perfect world. This would be. I guess I gotta go eat some of those magical cupcakes..

For Mamaroneck Village EMS, 1,485 call for the year 2009. 1,102 of those calls where people we transported.

So what will happen to all the volunteer hospital providers, mostly run by transcare?
