  10. Sure, I remember when I was 16, and was going thru the ambulance I saw those tags. I guess it is based on where you buy them. To know whats on them: dead or (Priority 0) in black immediately ( Priority 1) in red underneath it said delay up to one 1hr. Delay ( Priority 2) in yellow underneath it said delay up to two hrs. green (Priority 3) was walking wounded. Here's a link to a website to explain Triage better LINK TO TRIAGE
  11. Black= Dead Red= Immediately (up to 1 hour wait) Yellow = 2 hour delay Green = Walking Wounded (When ever possible, but with in reason)
  12. I actually got woken up by a P.O. screaming on the radio "Start out New Rochelle, Multiple injuries" Well once I got my bearings, I started to piece together what had happen. I person (unknown at the time it was a P.O. until I came on here) was on a Motorcycle and was hit ether by, or collided with a car in Scarsdale ( I thought it was in scarsdale due to the radio taffic) . Scar-Vac 18 was already en route to the hospital with another call. NR Alpha 3 was called in because it was New Rochelle's District. (at lest that part of QUAKER RIDGE RD) This all happened around 730ish this morning I belive. From what I heard the Officer had a femur injury, ribs pain, and cut's and bruises thou out his body. I wish the officer injured a speedy recovery, as well as everyone involved at the Scarsdale Police Department. I wish you all the best.
  13. bumb Anyone remember to watch this. How was it
  14. From what I heard a propane leak started around 9am and is still going on. a crew trying to refill a tank, heard a popping noise, then smelled propane. They requested FD to scene. TMFD, LVAC, TMPD, Coned-gas were all on scene, the TMFD was committed to the scene. Called M/A for coverage for the town.
  15. You know I have the pleasure of know some great people. Alot of old-timers in the EMS field. The guys who have been doing this for well over 20years. I must say that some of them look on here, so thank you for teaching me alot of stuff, but the reason why I have started this topic is because there are EMT's and Paramedics that are my age that are already burned out. So I came across this quote on the internet. I have spoken to the person, who will remane nameless, and doesn't want me to share where I got this from. ( Sorry Doc, and Jack) So my question to you all is. If you once started EMS to help someone why do you feel burned out most of the time? What happen to the feeling of helping someone in need. Volunteer or paid we are all here to help our fellow man.
  16. I just love a happy ending with these comedies. Thanks for sharing Bill
