One of the volunteer departments operating in NYC on the island of Broad Channel, is another department who lost everything. Members of the department put together a video about what their going through sand what has happened. I found it to be really powerful, everyone watch this. Link to video below.

thank you to some of the guys who have stepped up and sent me a email. there is still so much more our brothers and sisters need. i have once again spoken to the chiefs of the depts. they have added items to the list of things they really need.

there is a long list and there is always more to add. just think of it this way, if you had to build a firehouse and get all the tools for 2 busses and a engine what would you need.
i know so many of these items are expensive but if there is a old piece of equip laying around maybe it could become there frontline.

My Thoughts, Prayers, and Condolences Go Out To The Morris Family and Members Of The City Of New Rochelle Fire Department Family.

Ok just to clear some stuff up here it is not used at all as a response vehicle nor will any member of the FD be driving it...also it is not owned by the FD.
The project was ok'd by the Mayor of Glen Cove and the City attorney to wear the Glen Cove FD name. It is a publicity stunt on part of the owner who is very supportive of the FD. It was created in part to be show cased in the FD's 175th anniversary parade this June. No money from the FD budget or the City of Glen Cove was used to create it. The owner is also a sponsor of the FD's car show and cruise nights it has been hosting. As for the use of the apparatus floor and model I guess this was ok'd by the city. It could be any firehouse. I guess the FD's that allow the female models to model in those fire girl calenders in gear and on the rigs are doing something very naughty as well. Shame on them also. Good God get over it. You see much worse then this just going to the beach nowadays or the front page of the Daily News!! Boy the new generation of....never mind.

60 Control Dispatched Village of Mamaroneck FD's E38 and E42 to a MVA with possible extriaction. Car 2241 arrived on scene first and confirmed extriaction. Extriaction of 1 person was completed at 2150hrs. Mamaroneck EMS transported 3 people (1 ALS, 2 BLS) to Sound Shore Medical Center. All VMFD units were in service at 2158hrs. The scene was turned over to VMPD.
