  2. The M2 was the produced version of the test vehicle "T14". Between 1941 and 1943, the White Motor Car Company produced 8,423 units, and the Autocar Company made 2,992. Judging by the different front fenders on the two fire apparatus, I'd say one was an early M2 built by White Motor Company, and one was an M2 built by Autocar. Note they simply inverted the front bumpers on the firetruck half-tracks, an ingenious way to outfit them with pumps. The tanker half track was more than likely a platform originally built for an anti-aircraft gun, thus the heavier towing capacity. The smaller split windshields were primarily on the M2s, International Harvester company built some on the "lend-lease" program, but generally speaking IHCs were bigger all around, from the truck itself to a solid one piece windshield. It appears they were developed bigger and stronger as the war years progressed. http://mailer.fsu.edu/~akirk/tanks/UnitedStates/armored-halftracks/armored-halftracks.html
  3. Seems to be working great. You don't mean "bed bugs" now do ya? Continued success with the site Seth. We all owe you a debt of gratitude for the amazing amount of work you have put in to making EMTBravo better and better, so thank you.
  4. They apparently were MIA recently.
  5. Some other examples of where "cigar guy" has been showing up; much better admittedly than my crude attempt! http://www.funnyordie.com/stories/4047ba27f4/smiling-cigar-guy-tiger-woods-cigar-indian-cigar-man-pictures
  6. Heck goose, you been in the bus too much bro? lol. That's the now famous "cigar guy" from this photo that went viral on the web a couple of weeks ago: PS: the photographer got hit square in the gut from this errant shot from TW. Some people are saying this could be one of the "greatest sports photos ever." You be the judge though.

  11. Check out Chief of Operations Bill Feehan from Mr Doyle's website: http://doyleimages.smugmug.com/FDNY/2nd-alarm-Flushing-Queens/11706548_PuZAK#826088792_Lj95C The Chief of Operations gets up on the roof in one photo. Do they make them like that anymore?
  12. You got that right Jack. The department should send them out alone in a Battalion's car, into the urban jungle of the LA basin; throw a few fires at them and while they're responding, hit them with some CIDS information, tell them they're receiving multiple calls for persons trapped, and let them figure out the best way to establish a rescue attempt, fire attack, apparatus placement, think about the construction type, the occupancy, water supply, special call of additional apparatus....without an aide to drive/assist them. Maybe they can jot down notes on the dashboard while navigating the notorious traffic; the people texting while driving, chatting on their cell phones, blasting their rap music and not hearing the siren, etc.
  13. Gotta love FD Brass with a matching pair. Good luck and stay safe LAFD.

  22. So let me see if I have this visual correct; Engine was rear end out towards the center lane correct? So the pump operator was on the protected "upside" of the rig? Basically, the tractor-trailer "clipped" the left rear corner as it sped by "moving over" into the left lane? I gotta say......you guys are more than lucky. Yes, you followed SOG and it may have saved lives here. But that rig rolling at 55+ with a load carries one heck of a velocity. Your officer deserves credit for ensuring all members followed SOGs, down to your reflective vests. You all deserve a "dodged a bullet" citation. God Bless you all. Go to church and say your thanks.
  23. One of the worst aspect of these guys getting passed over, is many of them are veterans of the wars, are close to the age cut off, and if they don't get on this time, it's history. Disgraceful....truly.
  24. BTW: No offense to my brothers who are so diligent about this ISO info, but Bad Box started the thread about FAST response, can we get back to the subject? It's a subject near and dear to all all of us. Thanks
  25. JC for Chief of Department, FDMV.
