First, you got me. I thought it was going to be about San Fransisco. Second, this is the coolest thing I think I've ever seen for teaching kids about safety. Third, looks like they spared no expense setting this up. Some of that equipment on the wall display....looks brand new! Fourth, I wish I was a kid again....I'd love to go and play here. Heck, I was only sticking in my two cents with the hope that this issue would be resolved. As a previous poster had pointed out, emergency services personnel just don't need any perceived bad publicity.....things are bad enough already..... I think most of us members that have been around a while, always hope new members get involved with the board and post good information and opinions of value. The welcome to you is sincere.

Really saddened to read this tragic development. May Officer Moore rest in eternal peace. Thoughts and prayers to his family, friends and fellow IPD Police Officers. Let's all hope and pray that this madness of violence against our police, which has spread across the country like a wildfire, stops now.

How about the "OV" down here? It's very relevant. We just had a short discussion about what the "OV" does. Now the crossover. You go from the "OV=Outside Vent" to the "OV=Ocean View" Inn. I promise all will return home with a suntan...... plus it's a shorter drive for me.

A good place to head to might be the Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance. It's out in Coney Island. There'll be parking, and more than likely some kind of ceremony on 9/11. You should probably avoid Manhattan on the 11th; I don't say this for certain, just a suggestion, but if you end up getting 50 cars or something to accompany you, it might be better to head someplace like Coney Island. Yesterday was surreal down here in Florida. All the south Florida channels covered the funeral/memorial of the two Miami-Dade detectives killed wile serving a warrant in Liberty City. Then comes word in the morning that two St. Petersburg cops were killed doing the exact same thing, serving a warrant on another fugitive. Our collective hearts are broken here in Florida. The State is in shock over these senseless murders. The Miami-Dade PD did a wonderful job paying tribute to their lost veteran detectives. They held the service at the American Airlines Arena (the "triple A") where the Miami Heat play. But to know that at the same time another police department was dealing with the same tragedy was unbelievable. Stay safe out there, the world has gone insane.

I think I can pipe in an answer on this one. O/V=Outside Vent The OV does VES (Vent-Enter-Search one of the more risky propositions on the fireground), and also gets on the fire escapes or a ground ladder opposite the attack line and vents when the line officer from the engine calls for it. That's just the basics as I understand them.... Edit: ahh Chief beat me too it...
