To clarify. The County did not refuse to dispatch the METU. I requested it and was advised through the proper dispatch procedure that the vehicle was not yet placed in service and that it was not available. This is no different than any other fire apparatus or ambulance. The County did coordinate the dispatch of two Bee Line buses in its place. Many of you need to climb out of your glass house and visit the real world. Stop posting and spreading rumors before knowing the facts.

Thereby eating up the savings of the contract difference, so there will be no savings. VOPD said they will only hire 5 officers. Sorry, in the end, there will be no savings, and they will not get the same level of service.

Not a chance. The military can not even shot down any aircraft without an express verbal authority and approval from the President. While the military has been given some leeway in making this decision without approval, I can tell you there is not a chance in hell that the NYPD has any authority. Think of this, where would that aircraft, or its parts, land if it was shot down over NYC??? Sorry, the ramifications would be like ones we have never seen before. Leave the job where it falls at, the military, not the NYPD.

Personally, if this is for safety, which is certainly is, as blue makes a HUGE difference both day and night, it should not matter to anybody.

Yeah, the problem is they have this stupid slot system at the airport to appease all the people who built mansions overlooking the airport who complain about noise. Gotta lov eit, build a mansion near an airport or within 20 miles of an airport's flight path and then complain about noise.

Why do you need a badge? If you are part of a department, they should have provided you with a badge. If they did not, then there must be a reason why they do not issue badges. Another thing to remember, you should not be carrying a badge that is not backed by some form of official ID.
