I know that everyone whats career firefighters, but I understand that cost would be high, so does NYS law allow for part-time Fire and EMS that could act as daytime staffing.

Sycamore uses the same concept as Broward, but is in the process of phasing those units out and only has one in frontline service currently. On that not I don't believe it is used very often due to growth of population down in that area, and that Sycamore has joined several dept in that area in a fire collaborative fire district that has AMAR with all the joining depts. (note al depts in the collorabative still operate indipentant at this time, no idea if a future consoldation is planed). http://www.nefcfire.com/home.php

I think the new Ultra chassis looks like a Spartan chassis that Ferrara modified and stamped their logo across it.

Her in Ohio at my dept we did 3253 fire and EMS, an increase from last yr of about 150 calls.

We carry them on our medics, but they are to be used as a rescue airway after failed ET tude attempts. That being said I prefer the King over the combi-tube, we do carry both as well as LMAs but our medical director only wants us using LMAs used on Pedis. To answer your question it probably wasn't placed right or wasn't the correct size.

We have a Smeal quint in our dept on a Spartan, and the wheel base for ours is 204''. I love the truck and one thing nice about Smeal is that they build their own ladders and only do steel ladders.

Here in my region of Ohio 12-lead is the norm, but is not required (however all but 1 or 2 agencies has the ability), we also have the ability to transmit to the ER if we see something of significance. We also have a program called cardiac alert witch lets us make an alert that notifies the needed people (cath Lab) when we see something of significance. Just recently added is the transmission of 12-leads by EMTs (properly trained on lead placement) if approved by your dept and Medical Director.

Being less than an hour away from my current location their was alittle more press about it, and the firefighters have been complaining about the radio system. Most agency that are on that counties radio system have complained. That system is a fully digital 800mhz system, and it was complained about in the dubble LODD in one of cincy norhtern suburbs.

What size tank does it have, looks like over 1000 due to the height of the hosebed.

can't speak on holmatro because I have not used the, however we just placed a new set of Genesis tools into service and are awaiting our other set. The new tools have genesis's OSC coupler that is a single twist and look coupler and it also allows for the tools to be hot switched, and the new tools have a stronger cutting force. One a side not our Asst. Chief is on of the big auto extrication teachers and a couple years ago he broke multiple sets of holmatro tools at state fire school that holmatro brought for his class to demo.

Our dept just recently placed into service Scott75 SCBA with all the bells and whistles including the pack tracker system. To further add to this every ajoining dept is in the process of adding Scott 75s and the stand-alone pack tracker so they can add it to the existing Scott 50s. My question is anyone up there in the northeast using the Scott 75s or the stand-alone pack trackers and if so do you like it or dislike it.
