Description Of Incident:One man is trapped up to his neck in what was an 8-foot deep ditch at 154 Acres Road. Officials at the scene said that the man and his brother were digging a ditch behind the building for pipes used for footing drains to drain water away from the building. It is not know at this time if the were installing or repairing the pipe.When the ditch collapsed, the trapped man’s brother attempted to dig him out.

The original call came in as an unknown type of rescue at the above location. Shortly after at the call came in that it was a ditch collapse and the trench rescue teams from Goshen, Mechanicstown and Monticello were called to the scene.

As of 8:15 this evening firemen were still stabilizing the trench with bracing and setting up flood lights
