Croton Mack in service in Maywood NJ

13 posts in this topic

As riding through Maywood coming across Peerless Engine 2 I noticed Croton's old 1984 Mack in Co. 2's firehouse and in service.....Greeted by a fireman from the Rescue, who is also housed here let me in the firehouse to take pictures and check out the "new" rig. Due to the fact that he was a rescue member not a engine 19 memeber he could not pull out the truck.

Photos were taken within the firehouse and are posted below.....Special thanks to H. Villanova for the photos and also to the fireman who let us in.....

While at the firehouse the member was saying how they only replaced 2 light bulbs and also sticker/paint job. He was saying how the members are pleased with the truck's overall performance, including pumping and driving. They are currently specing a new Pierce pumper (unknown make) and the Mack will stay in the Town as a reserve pumper. The E-one they have been using is gone and there 1976 Howe/95 Simon Duplex Glider Kit has a blown pump and is currently at the Bergen County Fire Academy.

YES!

I've been checking the Maywood FD website daily for updates!

I'm glad to hear they like it, I am sure it will serve them well.

How much 5" is it carrying?

When can I come down and requalify on it? smile.gif

I just noticed something insanely ironic.

Engine 119 is now Engine 19.

Still running from Station 2.

It WAS the "Pride of the Northside" - now it is "Pride of the South Side."

That's funny, well, to me anyway.

I noticed the New Jersey Licence plate on the former Croton Engine 119 is

MG75231

Try this MATH , you will need pen and paper !

Please post if it works for YOU!

Step by step :

Take the first letter (M) from the licence plate , it is the 13th letter in the alphabet. Write down 13 , take the second letter (G)of the plate , it is the seventh letter in the alphabet, write down 7.

add 13 + 7 = 20

take the next two numbers from the licence plate 75,

20+ 75 = 95

take the next two numbers and add 23 + 95,

add the last number , 1

I just added up the Licence plate numbers , I recall after 9/11 the firefighter that stood next to President Bush had helmet front 164 , someone noticed that if you add 1+6+4 it = 11 , take 6+4 = 10 subtract 1 = 9 giving you 9/11.
