Spy Shots - FDNY KME Engine Cab

Taken this week at the KME factory. This is actually the second cab, the first has already been shipped out to crash testing. This will be the cab for initial FDNY acceptance.

Glad to see some forward progress on these engines. They must still be about a year out before new engines are delivered for the companies. Some of those old Seagrave engines will be well beyond worn out by then. What happens if the demo engines don't pass the evaluation? Back to the drawing board?

Once the prototype is evaluated by FDNY and signed off on, any changes will be made, and then production is ready to begin. KME can pump out large orders like this pretty quickly, so I say you will be seeing these engines in early 2014.

That's because it's based off FDNY Spec just like the Seagraves were.
